She is kept waiting for several hours; a maid accidentally spills tea on her and runs off in terror. Lord Hebi finally arrives, and interrogates her about her recent activities (Brink of Life and Death, Seasons, Grasscutter 2). Chizu demands to know who has been accusing her of treason; it turns out that it is Kagemaru! He and Chizu fight, and then Kagemaru summons the remaining Neko Ninja to attack her. The battle rages through the palace; Chizu almost escapes, but it turns out that the “tea” the maid spilled was in fact a dye that glows in the dark. Wounded by a poisoned shuriken, Chizu falls into the woods outside the castle; she manages to put her coat on a slain Ninja, and decoys the other Ninja long enough to hide. The other Ninja search the woods; Kimi finds Chizu, almost dead from the poison, but still has enough loyalty that she lets Chizu escape. Hebi tells Kagemaru that his mission is to kill Chizu, and that unless he does, he cannot consider himself leader of the Neko Ninja. The story ends with a beaten, sickened Chizu staggering away from the castle…
