Rules

Okay, if your reading this than you must want to send a story or picture to me. That's great, the more the better! But before you zap that great tale to my virtural mailbox, a few rules to save myself a bit of sanity and time.

Rule 0: It's not allowed to publish UY Artwork anywhere but here
To protect Stan Sakai from any kind of trouble (copyright wise), Dark Horse asks everyone to not publish any Usagi related art work (that is anything which contains characters which resemble characters found in the comic book either in written or drawn form) anywhere but on this site. If you want to learn more about the reasons behind this rule, ask a lawyer or become one yourself.

Rule 1: Usagi Yojimbo (or Space Usagi) or one of the main characters from Usagi's world must be the central character.
For some of you this may be kind of silly, but if you decide to do a crossover tale, I'd rather have the focus on Usagi rather than whoever your crossing-over with, this goes for art as well! Usagi with other characters is fine, but Usagi Characters should be the main focus.

Rule 2: Please sign your work with a name and an e-mail address
Another apparently silly rule ... but did you know that there were several entries to the Fan-Fiction contest who didn't sign their names?!? As a result Todd couldn't keep them in the contest, so who knows ... one might have been the winnah. If I get stuff (art or fiction) with out a name I will not post it.

Rule 3: Please Proofread prior to sending.
My grammar and spelling skills are far from the greatest, so I'm sorry I can't proofread your work for you :-(

Rule 4: Please insert the basic HTML code into your story prior to sending it to me.
If any of you out there have ever done HTML you know that though basic is not hard it is time consuming, I wish I had the time to do it for you, but work and other duties keep me from doing so. If you need help with HTML, check here.

Rule 5: Please send story and art submissions to fanfiction@usagiyojimbo.com only.
Please don't send stories to Todd or my other e-mail account. If I ever have to give this archive to anybody else I need to keep my personal stuff separate, hence the separate accounts. If you have any questions or comments, you may sent those to shadowwing55@hotmail.com.

Rule 6: When sending stories, please send them either in the body of the email or as .txt or .html attachments only.
There are way too many word processing programs out there for me to accept any format. I may not be able to read them, and therefore cannot post them.

Rule 7: Please send your Fan Art in .jpg or .gif format only.
These two formats are the most common on the web, if you have trouble saving your pics or need help please ask!

Rule 8: This is a family site, so keep those stories and artwork clean!
If you feel your story or picture needs a rateing higher that PG-13, I may not be able to post it here. It may be a great story or fantastic picture but we have to watch for the wee-ones that are Usagi fans too.

I may amend these rules later on depending on what kind of results I get, I'm not asking for much here folks, so please be kind and follow the rules ;-)

To Submit Fan Art or Fan Fiction send that to: fanfiction@usagiyojimbo.com also with the subject "UY Fan Art".

Please be sure your stories are either written into the body of the e-mail or sent as an attachment in .txt or .html formats ONLY! No Word, no FrameMaker, no MacWrite, no RTF. Just plain text or simple HTML.

Fan Art can be sent in either .gif or .jpg format as an attachment.

I'm also on ICQ, my number is 33609308 or you can search under my e-mail shadowwing55@hotmail.com, I can also accept submissions via ICQ transfer as well! Just be sure to tell me who you are and why you want to contact me or I may accidently ignore you ;-)
