RULES AND GUIDELINES for using the UY DojoBoard Forum

Postby Todd Shogun » Mon Oct 18, 2010 7:56 +0000

Welcome to the Usagi Yojimbo DojoBoard, a forum devoted to discussing everyone's favorite Ronin Rabbit. Before you begin, we have a few Rules and Guidelines that we'd like to share with you. We hope these will make your DojoBoard experience a much more enlightening event!

DOJOBOARD RULES AND GUIDELINES

1) Please keep the discussions limited to Usagi Yojimbo, Stan Sakai, the works of Stan Sakai, Albedo, Critters, anthropomorphics ("funny animals" or "furry comics"), Groo, etc. Anything considered too off-topic will be relocated to a more appropriate forum. If you're a REALLY hardcore UY otaku and want to discuss nothing but Usagi, try the UY DojoGroup email discussion list instead, over at http://lists.usagiyojimbo.com/listinfo. ... ojimbo.com

2) No ads, crank-messages, or hate-postings allowed. Anything considered inappropriate and against the rules will be deleted immediately.

3) If you start a new topic, be sure it's in the appropriate discussion forum. Anything posted that if off-topic will be moved to Ronin Ramblings, our off-topic discussion forum.

4) Before you start a new topic, look around to see if there's already a topic on the subject. It's better to contribute to an existing discussion than to start a brand new one.

5) If you reply to a message, please stay on topic.

6) Be respectful, courteous, and honorable. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

7) Check your spelling. Read your message through one more time before you hit "Submit".

8 ) If you disagree with a message, respond to the message. Do not attack the individual who posted it.

9) HTML tags are okay, as long as they pertain to the aforementioned discussions. No ad-links, unless they're for UY Comics (post these in the RYAAA! Marketplace). Selling UY comics is okay, and encouraged.

10) No obscene or inappropriate language (we have word censors that will automatically detect foul language and edit as appropriate).

11) We have an Avatar Gallery. To access it, just go to your Profile edit page and scroll to the bottom... hit the "Show Gallery" buton to display. If anyone wants to create Avatars for the Board, just post them here and we'll upload 'em!

12) Lastly, have fun!!!

ADMINISTRATION
We do not and cannot review every message posted here, and we are not responsible for the content of those messages. We do have the right to delete or edit messages that we determine to be unacceptable, but we are not obligated to do so.

From time to time, we may review topics and messages and may edit or delete them.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU SEE A VIOLATION
If you find a message or topic that you feel violates our Rules and Regulations, we suggest that you do these two things:

1. Report the post to us. You can PM our moderators or send an email to Admin@UsagiYojimbo.com Send a message to us telling why you think the post is in violation. Please include the Nickname of the poster and the date/time the message was posted; that will make it easier for us to find the particular message.

2. DO NOT reply to the post.
Often, these types of posts are there just to get attention. If you ignore an offensive post, you have defeated its purpose. If you react, you're just playing their game, and they win.

CLONES
If you create a username that seems to intentionally impersonate or taunt another user, your posting privilege will be revoked.

SPAM
Do not spam: post topics or replies which are just one word or just your name, or repeat the same reply over and over.
Do not troll: post topics or replies which are inflammatory and intend only to provoke an angry response from others.
Do not flame: insult another user.
If you do, your posting privilege will be revoked.

OTHER USERS
Do not create topics about other users.

BUMP
Do not post a reply just to "bump" your topic to the top of the list. if your topic is interesting to other users, it will elicit responses which will keep it active.

PERSONAL ATTACKS
So far there have not been any topics and posts devoted to attacking other board users. We'd like to keep it this way. Good topics could be sidetracked by flame wars between users, and what could have been an interesting discussion often degrades into a slew of personal attacks. The board moderators simply do not have the time to remove all the inappropriate posts in such topics, and all too often, our only option is to delete the entire topic.

Do not post any topics devoted to attacking another user, or otherwise discuss someone else in a mean-spirited or abusive fashion. All such posts/topics reported to us may be removed. Any topics on other subjects that get side-tracked by such attacks may also be removed. Continual abusive attacks against other users can be cause for revocation of posting privileges.

The DojoBoard Forum is here for you to have fun, meet other Usagi Yojimbo fans, and to get involved in discussions relating to Usagi Yojimbo and beyond. We allow the users here a great deal of posting freedom, but that freedom does not give you free reign to attack other users. Please try to respect each other, and respond to posts and ideas, not individuals. If you have something personal to say to or about another user, take it to private message.

REMEMBER...
We are all Usagi Yojimbo fans here. This site and the DojoBoard Forum give us an opportunity to interact with a community of fans all around the world. If you have comments or concerns about the Message Boards or other community functions on UsagiYojimbo.com, please send them to Admin@UsagiYojimbo.com.
