I think my favourite is the one for "Brink of Life and Death", Usagi double wielding and screaming a battlecry :)

I have to agree, plus the corresponding illustration at the back of the book is different...

Awesome pictures. Am I overthinking it, or is it of INTENDED relevance that:
-Tomoe occupies the central position
-Chizu is trying to push her way in
-Mariko is "falling" out

;)

You'll have to ask Stan if there is any significance to their placement, I just asked for them to be fighting in the background ;)

This one might have only been spotted by me... still for a coloured price, the seller's asking price of $150 was too hard to resist

And a few other additions in the last few months to the Flickr set as well for perusal...

Great piece...good find, Mayhem!

Do I see a spot of correction fluid where the name of the first owner might have been, just above "Best wishes"?

Not that it deminishes the artwork, but why would someone do that, I wonder?? :?
Greetings from overseas

Your eyes serve you well... although it was not the person I bought this from that did it; he says it was the person he bought it from back in 2001, who I assume was the original commissioner. Putting it up to the light I can see "To Waki..." and maybe a couple more characters but I can't quite make them out properly.

The illustration on the envelopes this year was not what was originally planned, but rather a last minute switch to something a little simpler because I was having the worst time getting the envelopes to print, my poor Epson printer was definitely gasping it's last few breaths while working on them. And the last two cards to be mailed out were actually sent out in hand made envelopes since a few of the original envelopes were ruined by the printer.

Steinar Lund is a reasonably well known artist here in the UK (in certain circles) who has created a lot of artwork for computer and video games, magazines, books, various products and the such not. He is currently selling off a bunch of his original artwork when I came across this in the pile...

Needless to say, I did rather have to buy it! It was for a magazine in the UK in 1989 and he's drawn his own version of Usagi from Stan's original image. This is no copy and paste job. If you think it looks really, really accurate, then that's because he's a very, very good artist ;)
