I think it is being written as it is said, as in there is no 'm' sound in the hiragana/katakana . . . it's like a soft 'n'. I think that the 'n' sound is sounded like an 'm' if it's followed by a 'b' or 'p'. Example: "newspaper" is written in Japanese as "shinbun", (しんぶん - 新聞) bu...

lol, too true. I had people tell me the green traffic lights were blue! Apparantly years ago they actually were more of a bluey green, but changed to green. A lot of older people still say 'blue light'. I also understand that there a lot more variations on blue/green and often they are seen as the s...

Let's not forget the old/new fascination; as in, I am a big fan of ancient Japanese stuff (antiques, houses, gardens, art etc) but they are also at the cutting edge of the modern hi-tech wiz-bangery. Having said that, I am becoming more interested in China and Korea as of late. I mean, let's be hone...

I think you could be struggling in Hiroshima, the local Kinokuniya might have some english books but doubtful about the comics. the best place I found is Tower Records in Shibuya in Tokyo. Not convenient at all I realise, but at least you are on a Shinkansen line (as was I in Niigata). The 7th floor...

Wa-hey!! Just picked up the first two TPB's and my favourite snackfood ;) Time for an evening of becoming acquainted with the world of UY. Looking forward to it.

PS. Is there a FAQ about Stan's equipment (markers/pens/brushes etc)?
