Re: Usagi Yojimbo Color Classics - Jan 2020
Amazon's listing Volume 1 as "Samurai" and the next spate of color issues we know are labeled "Wanderer's Road," so i guess we'll basically be matching the original volumes.

Re: New Usagi figure from Super7
Ah, hadn't looked up their TMNT line.
For those as ignorant as me: they're based on the original toy line from the late 80s, only remade as high quality, super poseable, bigger figures. So, retro look but modern quality. I suppose their Usagi would be a similar remake of the original 80s figure.

Oh, they're a very established company catering to adult collectors. They do tons of vintage-style figures.
Can't wait to see Usagi!

Re: Free Comic Book Day 2020
FCBD issues finally trickling in to my shop: got Little Lulu, Donald Duck, the Jack Kirby bio comic and... Usagi! Emi's coloring is fantastic! (EDIT) Finally got a chance to sit down and read the thing, and it was delightful! There was a lot of character in this brief comic. I could easily see someo...

Re: Issue 11: Thoughts on Mariko’s design?
I'm at work now, so I'm going off memory, but I believe after the Fantagraphics period Katsuichi didn't appear for a while and it was into the Dark Horse years when his new look appeared.

Re: Issue 11: Thoughts on Mariko’s design?
^ Of course, but Katsuichi's redesign was extreme. The original design wasn't modified over time; at a certain point Stan started from scratch.

I think it's a cool idea to showcase guest artists with the color classics covers. Stan's already done covers for these stories.

^ Katsuichi redesign was in the '90s. Maybe it was addressed in the letters page?
I'm not on Facebook. What was the gist of Stan's thoughts on changing Gen's look?

Re: Issue 11: Thoughts on Mariko’s design?
Has Stan ever talked about his thought process behind completely redesigning Katsuichi-sensei? I mean, he was fiddling with the design from the beginning, but then he doesn't appear for a while and when he finally reappears his look was totally overhauled. I mean, I get it. The redesign is a much st...

Re: We will miss you, Tom.
After a lifetime of great work I hope he enjoys his retirement! Not only have his color issues of Usagi been terrific, but the very fact that he has been the consistent colorist for the covers over the years provided a rock-solid template for how color Usagi should look, making the transition from b...

Prefer the new logo design. Gives it a different feel to the otherwise uniform trade dress.
But I guess I may be in the minority here. Nerds tend to favor uniformity, but I always like a bit of variety.

Re: ‘Usagi Yojimbo’ Ordered at Netflix
That’s quite sad about the short and early age range for cartoons now... was never the case when I was a kid... Well, that's because they're chasing after a certain demographic. There are cartoons for every age range nowadays - with plenty for teens and adults, but they usually fit into certain pro...
