Re: Not UY, but surely good enough.
Dredging up the thread again with some more commentary, haven't tried out Takeda yet, but it looks interesting enough. It it about the same time period as Sword of the Samurai, I think a little after Oda Nobunga's rise? There is a Takeda clan in the Sword of the Samurai as mentioned, and there are r...

Re: The passing of Stan's grandson Leonardo
Deep sympathies and grievances, though the internet is a hard place to express them truly. May the pain dull and may familial strength and hope prosper through out of this for Stan and family.

Re: Four Character Posters for Carl Rinsch’s ’47 Ronin’
It was in 3D also, but there were only about two or three 3D pop-put scenes. This movie looked like it would have several extra bits of eye candy. On the bright side, maybe this will prop open the door for more classics, that,ah, are more true to the classic.

Re: Who do you want in a Usagi Yojimbo Series 3 statue set?
1. Stray Dog-Fine foil and rival to Gen. 2. Yagi and Gorogoro-More needs to be said? 3.Sasuke -Ought to have more appearances, something appealing fanwise about him. 4. Lord Hebei-Also memorable. 5. Mole Ninja.-Interesting ninja. Ishida, Inazuma, Sanshobo and Chizu will eventually turn up, but the w...

Re: Four Character Posters for Carl Rinsch’s ’47 Ronin’
Heard of this version for sometime now, could have sworn it had been cancelled also. Haven't there always been 47 Ronin movie adaptions planned and suddenly petered out? Hopeful for it, and that it will be good quality, yet I am more hopeful it willl appear on screen. Get the feeling it might have m...

Re: Not UY, but surely good enough.
By now, Wakazashi has been passed a good few times, and I believe at least once on Katana, can't exactly remember, only that there was lost of killing, swords, bandits and more killing. Not to mention every bandit is wielding guns on the higher difficulties, they are by the Daimyo level if one goes ...

Re: Not UY, but surely good enough.
Still trying to master Wakizashi at the Daimyo level. Tend to have everything hand, then everything suddenly erupts into rebellion and seperate fractions, then rinse and repeat. Tend to have successive generations constantly stave all the sneaky under-handings of every other clan for whatever reason...

Re: Not UY, but surely good enough.
Amen to all that, it is a highly addictive game no matter how repetitive the events get. Actually had to go save five future brides in a row, all ending in failure. They simply couldn't be found. Not quite sure about the starting stats of each region, but it seems less of Honor makes for more schemi...

Not UY, but surely good enough.
For the DOsBOX Lovers and the similar like, anybody familiar with the classic computer game, MicroProse's Sword Of The Samurai? Its more addictive then Oregon Trail, though only because Oregon Trail didn't require you to rise to Shogun, manage fiefs, chase off cowardly bandits, have heirs, fight hon...

Re: Usagi Yojimbo RPG
Blast, forgot to mention it is the 2005 Sangune Edition. The strong influences are from Ironclaw/Jadeclaw, but it takes some liberties. Races don't have number modifiers, like badger has teeth and +1 to attack, for example. From looking it over its more experience and reward due to objective and goa...

Re: Usagi Yojimbo RPG
Since the topic is related tp the UY RPG, might as well put this here. Couple of perplexing questions about the RPG, mainly from conflicting with the badly spoiled DnD mindset of "Stab Monster, Loot Corpse, Then Proceed to Purchase Weapons And Armor The Better to Stab More Monsters and Loot Mor...

Re: Usagi Game
Rejoice and RYAAAAHH! Its been too long and hard jonesin' for a real UY game or related that didn't have the rovin' rabbit ronin overshadowed by shelled-back green ninjas. The c64 version held up that fortress of interest against the madly rampaging bandit crowds of time with plenty of scars by now,...
