Usagi Yojimbo DojoBoard

I enjoy the trivia questions because it has makes me pay attention to little details in the Usagi books.
I have noticed some of these little details on interior pages, covers, etc. as I look for ideas for trivia questions.
So, this week I have two questions some of you might consider a little tricky. I need both answers to declare a winner If you can get one you will be able to get the other. These questions are based on some of these little details I noticed while looking at Usagi books recently.
When I saw the ads for the cover to Dark Horse's Usagi issue 150 it gave me an idea for this weeks questions.

There are at least two clues in this post.
I will add a couple additional clues if I don't get any answers in a day or so.
1. When is the 100th issue not really the 100th issue?
2. When is the 200th issue not really the 200th issue?

I have 3 responses so far...one guess is extremely detailed and two have the right idea but need to be expanded on in order to force me into drawing names for a winner.
The answers are actually right on the covers of a couple individual issues

Ok, so I have received a couple correct answers on the 200th issue part of the question but I have not received what I am looking for on the 100th issue part of the question.
The final answer may lead to some back and forth on here about what is actually correct but the answer I'm looking for is literally on the cover. I have had one person specifically mention the little cover detail I am looking for in reference to my questions.

I received multiple correct answers regarding the 200th issue part of the question.
I did not receive any correct answers on the 100th issue...at least the answer I was looking for.
I tried to make sure to make it clear the covers would give away the answers. Along with the "little details" being another clue.

On the cover of Usagi Yojimbo 141 there is a little red circle indicating that this book is the 200th issue of Usagi.
On the cover of Usagi Yojimbo 39 there is the same little red circle stating that is the 100th issue of Usagi.

So, with all the answers I received, Maka was the closest because he mentioned Issue 41 and Issue 141.
Everybody else had different answers but he was the only one to even get close to mentioning issue 39.

Now can somebody explain why Maka's issue 41 answer doesn't have this little red circle on it? Dark horse has issue 39 listed as the 100th issue and I just can't figure it out? Which summer specials and color specials are included? Is Space Usagi included?

Shucks. I didn't think of specials. The color special #3: GREEN PERSIMMON was at the beginning of the Dark Horse run. At least I think so. And there was the other two color specials before that one. So that is why 141 isn't the correct answer. Darn it!

Wow! Great question! I never would have thought of that. Congratulations on winning, Maka!

Steve hit nail on head there. If you're wondering why it wasn't DH issue #139 for the 200th issue, it's because I believe the two "Art Of" books were taken out of the "continuity" for the counting. You could possibly discount DH #100 as it isn't a true story issue, but that's one issue difference, not two.

Given what is mentioned on the inside cover of the latest Usagi comics in regards to how many issues have been published, I take it "Senso" (despite not being canon) is part of the count then?

No worries on the name Maka, it happens to me all the time...congrats on getting 141 and almost getting 39:)

Thanks to Steve for clarifying, I wouldn't have guessed the Art issues counted and I was also trying to not count issue 100 as it wasn't a normal issue but I still kept being off one.
