The Sakai Project hardcover is such a cool book that allows us to see different artist's interpretation of Stan's amazing character, Usagi Yojimbo. I have many favorites but one that I really love is the topic of this week's question.
If I don't receive any correct answers over the next day or so, I will expand on the clue list as the week unfolds.
I'm looking for the name of the artist, the page number it appears on in the Sakai Project and although the Turtles are not in the piece he contributed, which of the four primary TMNT weapons is missing in the piece?
Here are the first three clues:
1. Male artist with many published books almost all as the writer and the artist.
2. Recent cover artist for a VERY popular book series (the book series is not one of his creations)
3. B____ C____ Productions
Good luck to all!

Great question! It gives me a good reason to browse through my Sakai Project book again and enjoy the art.

I just saw this and decided to give it a go. I may be way off because I didn't look to verify any of the 6 clues. I remembered seeing a piece with TMNT weapons, but I thought all four were represented.

1. Kazu Kibuishi artist and writer of the Amulet series, Daisy Kutter and the Flight series.
2. Cover Artist for the 15th anniversary re-release of the Harry Potter book series...check out his new covers. He wanted them to feel like he was a photographer in the world of Harry Potter.
3. Bolt City Productions is the name of his website and company.
4. Scholastic books publish Harry Potter and his Amulet series
5. Born in Tokyo Japan
6. In this piece, we see the primary weapons of Leo, Mike and Raph...Donatello's Bo is not pictured. There is a neko ninja in the rafters but upon close review I see a sword on his back, a sword hilt and not a bo staff.
7. Page 20 in the Sakai Project hardcover
8. Maka added a fun fact in his answer regarding the artist. He is a graduate of UCSB
Thanks to everybody for playing!
Based on a random number generator, the winner is:
1.Mayhem
2. Maka
3. Machain
4. Steve
5. Gaffey
#4 STEVE was the winner...sorry, for some reason I could not get the screen shot of the results to show up in the post.
Congrats to Steve and thanks everybody for playing again!

Congrats Steve!
I'll try to post a picture of the Kazu Kickstarter sketch I won later this week. One of my colleague friends on campus was his major advisor. He introduced me to his work. Although I still remember his daily comic strips in our college newspaper.
Peace, maka
