Weekly "Trivia" Contest 17-23 November

There's a reason for the quotes around the word trivia in the title...
I did this type of question before, so it seems fitting to try it again on a short week.
In the Usagi universe, we have Jei, who was named as such because it was a play on words Jei-san for "Jason", the killer in the Friday 13th movies. In an early issue, Usagi encountered a fire breathing lizard he dubbed Zylla, as there was the pun-tastic question asked "Are you a god, Zylla?".
So, I'd like you to come up with an idea for a new character for the Usagi universe, whereby the name of said character is a pun, play on words or thus can be used in a humorous manner. Be creative! Bonus points for making it fit 17th Century Japan context. Give me a name, a brief description of who/what they are, and how the pun would come to fruition. Best idea will win this week's content. Get thinking

Hmmm, that's a good question that I hadn't really considered. Let's say you should PM them to me. I'll post them all up when I announce the winner. Gives some air of suspense also heh...

Sadly I only got one more entry over the weekend, for a total of four. So, a winner... let's see... I'm going to pick
Buck Rogers! And his suggestion was simply...
There could be a Samurai Cow named "Sashi" with the play on words being his friends/mother/brother-in-arms calling out to him and saying "Moooo-Sashi"
And the rest of the entries...
LenLovecraft wrote:A Ninja brother and sister duo. The little sister can be named Shuri-ken (After the ninja throwing weapon)she always takes her ninja duties seriously but her older brother is more of a clumsy ninja that relies on tricks called Jan-ken (After the Japanese version of the game paper, scissors, rock) she calls him Itchy Nii-san (Nii-san meaning older brother and Ichi-Ni-San meaning 1-2-3 in Japanese! Hooray for puns!) because he's got a perpetual sneezing spell after a smokebomb went wrong on him.
Eltanin wrote:Moon, a seaman on a merchant's boat. Emon, a female poet (also a reference to Akazome Emon, a japanese poet from the 11th century, but mostly I chose the name for the pun to come). There could be a scene in which Moon is annoying Emon by poking her head with a stick, leading Usagi to exclaim: "Sailor Moon, stop to poke Emon!"
Trevis Woods wrote:Character name: Kero Kero. Character is a rabbit who's father is a toad oil salesman. Kero Kero's father gave his son this name because of the lucrative business he had around this village selling Toad Oil. Kero Kero means "ribbit". He thought it would be good luck to give his son this name because his business had done so well over the years. This could be a side character that would tie back into the toad oil issue from Usagi 134. Perhaps somebody Kitsune and Kiyoko met while trying their toad oil scam.

Congratulations to Buck Rogers on a great idea.
I also like the "Hey sailor Moon, don't poke Emon!" pun, a very neat cross-medium pop cultural reference.
Now to figure out how I can geta Mooo-Sashi statue to go with my Sam-Moo-Rai statue.....

Congrats to Buck Rogers.
Those were some very creative entries.
I tried, but gave up rather quickly as my creative skills weren't working.
Well done everyone!

Wow! Really great entries. Mine was the most "basic" or one could say "simple" (i.e. unintelligent!) of the lot.
Glad you liked it!
Guess I need to find a question for this week!
I am leaving internet range tomorrow afternoon until Sunday night for the Holiday so I will wrack my small brain tonight and try to post it tomorrow morning.

Yes Steve! Your Sam-Moo-Rai statue crossed my mind when I was thinking of the Moooo-sashi pun!
