Hardback. Book 11 in softback (which actually I need).

The stories from Albedo and Critters are all in the first collection, which you own Spot...

I didn't know that. Are there other stories spread throughout different hardcovers and softcovers?

The stories "Hebi" (originally in the S/N hardcover Book 7: Gen's Story, as well as in the original Goldrush Usagi RPG Gamebook) and "The Courage of the Plum" (originally in Art of Usagi #1 from Radio Comix) were combined with four new pages to form the story "Snakes and Blossoms" which was published in Book 11: Seasons.

The only other one I can think of is the watercolor story "Return to Adachigahara" (originally published in the S/N hardcover Book 4: Dragonbellow Conspiracy) which was reprinted in UY vol.3 issue #10 as a b/w story after having the original pencils inked by Sergio Aragones and the title changed to "Return to Adachi Plain"

Book 20 is written by Fred Schodt, author of the definitive book on Japanese comics Manga, Manga and Dreamland Japan. He is also a good friend and was our translator when Sharon and I went to Japan as guests of Tezuka Productions.

We haven't approached anyone for 21 and 22, and won't until the book is in production. Any suggestions?

How about that Todd guy for Tomoe's Story in 2008? What's his last name? Bustiaro? Bustillo? Busiaro? Anyways, I hear he kind of likes Usagi. :D

Help yourself, a lot of it was included in the word file I had sent you last year, it has just been updated and I finally got around to listing which stories were in which book. I think I might have added some notes to some of the titles as well.

Wow, another Usagi Yojimbo forum I can leave annoying and off-topic messages on? :D When did you get it started? You never mentioned that it was up and running.

I vote for Todd also. He would be a fine representative of the common (not professional) fan. Although who would describe Todd as "the common fan?"

That is different approach to an introduction. And who better to highlight www.usagiyojimbo.com's role in the relationship between fans and Mr. Sakai. The only downside is that Todd isn't a "comic professional" name. But we can have Todd legally change his name to Todd "McFarlane" Shogun.

Jeff Smith would be a good second option.

Frank Miller.

Or a distant fourth - why not have an introduction writing contest between us fans. I'm sure some of us could come up with something good (fair and balanced) to say about the stories and the storyteller.

Looking forward to reading Fred Schodt introduction. He spoke at UCSB at a nuclear manga, anime and japanese popcuture conference many years back. One of the interesting things he said was that the Japanese pop culture embraced the nuclear age (with a robot boy called The Mighty Atom - he saves the world) where as Americans feared it (like Dr. Strangelove - the crazy people destroy the world with nuclear bombs).

Peace,

maka
