Howdy folks. I stumbled onto this site from some online comic strip site. I heard about Stan Sakai winning this year's comic book award and got curious. Searching around usagiyojimbo.com, I saw the page on Albedo NR 2.
I used to collect comic books back in the eighties and I think I have a copy of this, as well as one or two of the Critters ones. I'm going to check tonight after work. If I do still have these (they would have been bagged but not carded), what do you folks recommend I do with them? Sell them? Keep them? Frame them? I dunno.
What's the going rate on them these days? I guess I need to get a new Overstreet guide.
I'll post here with more info after I look into the situation tonight.

Overstreet won't tell you anything (last I checked). We've seen this comic go for $1000 on eBay. It all depends on who wants it. If you're not a fan of the series, I would seriously recommend selling it so that a fan could have a chance to purchase it. For Albedo #2, $200 is about what Steve Gallacci, the publisher, would ask. If you want more, I suggest grading it and putting it up on eBay. Most fans of UY who buy Albedo #2 do not do so for speculative purposes, but because of what it represents. Therefore, the grade probably won't factor too much into what you'll get for it. My two ryo.

Well, it turns out that I don't in fact have a copy of NR 2. My copy of Albedo is, IIRC, 3 or 4. It's the one with the big worm-looking thing on the front. I found that I also have a few early copies of Critters, but sadly none with Usagi Yojimbo featured.
Talk about disappointing.
Oh well, I do have a large number of VERY early Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles issues that might be worth something. I have (I think) a complete collection of all the early Groo the Wanderer books dating back to the ealier publishers.
I'm now in the process of cataloging my collection, so something good has come out of all this.
Thanks to everyone for the advice.

TMNT
I believe the earliest I have is number 2 of the original printing. The publisher names escape my memory right now. I also have one or two early special issues - one of which combines the TMNT with some robot character. I'll have to check my collection to give you the exact issues. Contact me at chris_vtr@yahoo.com and we'll take this off-list.
