Follow the link to see a picture of my youngest daughter in her Hallowe'en Costume. The picture was taken a split second before the ears came off. She hates things on her head. The keikogi was hand made by me (First time sewing since Jr.High school home-economics class). She's only 13 months old so she didn't make it to too many houses, but I think she liked the concept of the holiday. That's great! I was going to make myself an Usagi costume, but I just couldn't figure out how to do the topknot, and It's not Usagi if he doesn't have his topknot.

There was someone dressed as Usagi at Anime Iowa this past August. She made her entire costume, including the sword and sheathe.

Thanks. I made the pattern for the keikogi by hand, but it was a bit large on her. She'd fit in it now, but she's never still long enough to put it on her. I might try to make my own hakama this summer, but I haven't decided for sure. Mata ne... -Jason

[/b] Ithought that Hakama Pnats came in all types of leg lenth sizes, but I was wrong, I did some looking up for litle child Hakama pants, but Unfortunetly, I could only find this Pattern link : http://shop.store.yahoo.com/roundearth/hakformarar.html
The pattern is large though, But When I make Toddler cloths, like kimonos or disney costumes I just reduse the lengnth and make it shorter. I don't know if this would be helpfull to you or not, just a sugestion ^^

A quick note about that pattern-- the stiffened back-board is a fairly recent development. For UY's period, the back of the hakama ended where the belt began, so being more authentic (OK, "samurai rabbit" and "authentic" aren't necessarily affiliated notions) is actually less effort.

Well I dident know there was a difference in Hakama pants btwn the centrys- look all the same to me . ^^* like in Kenshin you know ?
