UY & the Shogun

I put this already earlier in the 'You Decide Next' string - but I think it got overlooked. I'd really like to know...

BTW: maybe it's redundant as we speak because I read the books, and don't know what's happened after the Duel.

There is a lot of mentioning of the peace of the shogun and the shogun's reign. However, there is hardly any visual sight of the shogun in UY... It would be interesting to see the Usagi meet people from the Shogun's entourage in Edo (not the shogun himself, because him not appearing in the stories shows the necessary distance we should feel between Usagi and the shogun). Maybe a secret assignment indirectly from the shogun or one of his advisors.

There's a challenge: can Stan do 007-type stories with Usagi? We've seen Usagi in almost all others story genres (comedy, philosophy, mythology, action, lovestories, tragedy - you name it).

A 007-like story? That'd be cool. Here's a possible plot: Usagi is hired as a yojimbo by some merchant or something the like. Then they're assaulted and the attackers kidnap the merchant, so Usagi is forced to get into the attackers hideout (which happens to be some important's lord castle, who wanted to kidnap the merchant perhaps for some economical reason ) to rescue the merchant, using his ninja skills... Maybe Chizu could get into the story somehow... Bah, I can't think of a good plot right now. But getting to see Usagi using some badass explosives and defying the laws of physics with impossible jumps from cliffs while chasing falling planes would be a very nice treat .

The Dragon Bellow Conspiracy was like a spy story--double dealings, infiltration, a plot to overthrow the government, even a big explosion destroying the villain's stronghold at the end.

I forgot about the the Dragon Bellow, Sensei. You have given us so many superb stories that I have read the 17 books at least once a year again.

Still: the first leg of my question stands. Will we ever see UY in Edo?

Didn't Usagi go to Edo in Lone Rabbit and Child/The Confession? I also remember Noriyuki meeting with one of the Shogun's advisors...Okii Ashiyubi (Big Toe?) or something like that.... ah the good ol days....
