Another question for Stan?{sorry}
Dear Sakai-sensei: What do you use as references for the costuming in Usagi ? I've been watching my samurai & Zatoichi DVD's & videoes{ and of course, your comics}. Are there any good books out there that I should be aware of? I know that I should keep it simple,but, is it possible to have a variety of designs & simplify ?

There are many books on Japanese clothing, so you shouldn't have too hard a time finding something useful.
One of the best in my collection is, unfortunately, out of print. It's titled Kabuki Costume by Ruth M Shaver (Charles Tuttle Co, 1966). It not only has kabuki costumes but also clothing for occupations such as various priest, courteseans, etc. I has sections on various footwear and hair styles.
