UY #74 preview at Dark Horse

Post by ziritrion »

Check it out at http://www.darkhorse.com/profile/previe ... eid=12-904.

This is the 4th UY preview in a row. I think it's great: new readers can have a look to see what is this all about and perhaps buy the issue if they like it. It also makes the regular readers more excited about the upcoming issue :mrgreen: . Is Dark Horse gonna keep this trend from now on?

Perhaps we could add a link to these previews in the Dojo...

Just a question, though. http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/ ... firsts.htm states:
Usagi Yojimbo #74 will arrive in stores on Wednesday from Dark Horse Comics. The issue is written by John Ney Rieber, with art by Jae Lee.
Is this correct? If so, why?

When looking closer at the images, it seems that either Stan has changed his style slightly or the comic is really from someone else.

It looks like Stan's style for me. My guess is that the page writer did a mistake and put that paragraph at the wrong place.

Stan, could you confirm this, please?

EDIT: for -> to :P . English is hard. I'ts even harder when it's 4:00 AM ;) .

This is the second time I've seen this comment about John Ney Rieber and Jae Lee being credited with the story and art for this issue (first time was through the Yahoo group mailing list for Usagi Yojimbo http://groups.yahoo.com/groups/usagiyojimbo/)

I just checked the preview at Dark Horse and I did not see any indication that anyone but Stan Sakai was credited for the issue. I have not read the comicscontinuum.com article, but the one mentioned on the yahoo forum stated that the information came from Dark Horse Comics' preview which, as I said before, did not seem to say any such thing. (Then again, I'm as blind as a kamori sometimes)

I might be wrong, but I think someone somewhere got their credits crossed...

Ah. Being in a country where there is French, the references to fish in the preview now make COMPLETE sense. 8)

Yo'; I've looked at the four preview pages and they are obviously Sakai-sensei's work!!! I've been collecting Usagi Yojimbo for many,many moons now and I think that I know Stan's style when I see it!! Sure, it's "evolved "over the last twenty years,but, it's still HIS style!!!So, just ignore anyone who says different! They've obviously gotten their signals crossed!! BAKE!!!
