I noticed when I started to be a part of the UY dojo, I was first a guest. Now I see "shugyosha" next to my name. What's that mean? Thanks.
Greg
What's that next to my name?

thing next to your name
That is your dojo rank... I think there is a page on the Usagi Web-site which lists what each rank is and how to rise up through those ranks...

Shugyosha means "student warrior" (that's what Katsuichi called young Usagi when he accepted him as his pupil... before he started to call him "fool", that isgoandal wrote:I noticed when I started to be a part of the UY dojo, I was first a guest. It's the rank of all registered members of the UY Dojo and also the rank which you automatically get when you register at the DojoBoard. If you want to raise in rank, then work hard, hone your skills and prove yourself by submitting a work of honor for the UY Dojo.
For my work on the UY Dojo, the Shogun gave me the rank of Daimyo (feudal lord).
Alas, because of the subtleties of software, I have to be content with the prestigeless rank of "Site Admin" in my posts (translation: A member of the DojoBoard can have only one rank at any time).

So... If I submited and had accepted a comic to go up on the site, I could go up in rank? I can have a two-pager to you within a few weeks (Actually, doing the comic would only take about four days, but there are a lot of complications with money for suplies and getting the work photocopied (to reduce it and clean it up, an industry standard practice, if I'm not mistaken) and so on, so it may take longer). I would be thrilled to have my work featured in such a prestigious location. I will keep you updated. I'll get right to work on that comic.
Whaga.

Have a humble heart to be raised in rank...
Dear aspiring comic writers/artists,
It's awesome to fight for your dreams, but make sure your doing it with the right motives...never do it for selfish motives.
What I notice about Stan's work is that he shares a bit of his life to help others live better through the eyes of a samurai rabbit. Look at the characteristics of Usagi: always considering others first, continuing his mission to be a great student even though he's a skilled samurai and living by convictions (bushido). This is a life lesson for all.
Don't pursue the high rank for status, but for a humble heart.
Sincerely,
Greg
