Reopening Figures for Discussion

Post by Logan Myrddin »

Okay! I'd like to request more information (if available) on the Usagi figurines that will be coming out! Also, I'd love to have a date to expect them by. Can I hope to buy them for Christmas? Who are the figures going to be of? How large? Pewter? What poses? Am I being a pest? Will you have a kappa or a ninja? Okay, I think I've gone as far as I can go with this. PLEASE give me info!

Figurines

Post by Gaffey »

I'm signing a deal to produce a set of spun metal figures up to 50 mm tall--you know, the ones they use for role playing games.
The deal is with Dark Ages Miniatures for 12 figures within the year. Of course, we'll do Usagi, Tomoe, Gen, Katsuichi, Young Usagi, and Spot. What other characters would you like to see?
This comes from an old post using the previous dojoboard. I believe Stan eventually came up with the final lineup, but it was posted on the old board. Maybe Aaron can get access to it and cut/paste that discussion. Who knows??

The old board is still there: Old DojoBoard. There is also a link to it on the index page of this forum (it's at the bottom of the page).

The discussion about the Usagi Gaming Figure is at http://usagiyojimbo.com/wwwboard/messages/7351.html, but there hasn't been a final conclusion to the question which figures will be there (at least I couldn't find a post by Stan which lists the figures which will go into the final package).

Inazuma
Jei
Zato-Ino
Usagi in armor
Tomoe
Neko ninja
Bat ninja

I believe that is it.

Two questions remain: When will they be released, and (previously unmentioned) how/where will they be sold? Will they be sold as a set? THAT would be awesome. And, how much will they cost? I mean, they aren't going to be like thirty dollars a piece, are they? I want to be able to buy ALL of them!

Dark Ages Miniatures

When will they be released
Stan will have to answer this one
Will they be sold as a set?
I would assume separately. When I used to play AD & D everything was separate. A little too expensive for one large set.

I'm awaiting prototypes for the first seven. They will be spun-cast and made of that tin-alloy that gaming figures are made of. I don't know how these figures are usually marketed but they will also be available through Diamond and direct from the manufacturer Dark Ages Miniatures. They will be sold individually for about $5-6. A limited painted set may be available, though for much more. I'll post details when I hear more.
