Hey everyone!

Some of you may remember me from years ago, but my name (as you can probably tell from my board name) is Tristan Jones. I was a writer for Mirage Studios back when they had the TMNT and a big, big fan of Stan and Usagi!

I took a pretty solid break from the comic scene for a while after the Turtles were sold to "find" myself I guess, and now that I've got a solid direction, I decided to start getting in touch with the communities and other fans of the things I love!

I look forward to meeting everyone here and hopefully getting around to meeting some of you again in person! I think the last time I met any boarders was back in 07, and I was fortunate enough to have dinner with Stan back at SDCC in 09, so hopefully -- projects and finances allowing -- I'll be able to swing back into the con scene from here in Australia next year!

Speak to you all soon!

Tristan

Welcome back Tristan! I'll be at the SDCC again this year. Can't give that up. Maybe well see you at the annual UY Dojo Gathering/Photo Op!

Thanks guys! It's good to be back!

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make SDCC next month, but I'll certainly be there next year. With Ghostbusters starting in September and a possible return to writing duties on the TMNT on the cards, AND my own creator owned title all happening later this year, I'll be coming fully loaded to San D in 2012 ;)

Hi Tristan,

Welcome back. I haven't seen you since that Mirage dinner at San Diego. I remember your first time in San Diego. Just off the plane, and you get a nice mention in the newspaper.

Hey Marcel! Nothing is set in stone yet -- I'm presently working with IDW on the Ghostbusters monthly book (which is actually available for preorder as of this week, if people are interested!) and I've spoken to the guys in charge of the Turtles about the possibility of doing that, but nothing is set in stone. There's also the possibility of starting it again from scratch in their new continuity. If you're keen to see it happen or finished, I would suggest emailing IDW and letting them know -- the more support there is for such a thing, the more likely it is to eventuate! ;)

Thanks for the support though, Marcel, and hell yeah! I think I first started REALLY reading Usagi when he went to Mirage, so I had a bit of catching up to do, but it's hands down one of the best books out there. I actually dropped pretty much everything from my standing order very recently (said goodbye to Marvel, and virtually all my DC books, along with a lot of others) and Usagi, along with Locke & Key, Hellboy and BPRD were the only ones left standing!

Thanks, Stan!

Man! That only seems like a couple of months ago to me! And it was such a headspin for me -- the first person I meet inside my first Comic Con is Stan Sakai! Couldn't've asked for a better beginning to a Con if you ask me! You must be gearing up for this year's one about now, am I right?

thanks for the answer, yes I am going to mail them right after this here, but my hopes are a little low concerning that I had written them to every available e mail adress they offered on their site about their turtles ultimate collection and they never even bothered to send an answer of any kind;)...I guess there is much to do at the moment for them;)....
I got every issue you did on that gang war series but issue #36 and that was the one that drew back into reading turtles at all!!....I mean the cover just spoke to something turtles inside me from way past times;)I wrote back and forth with paul harmon about your team's wonderful work on the book and he even was inclined to send me the missing issue but never got around to do it(he asked me to stick around for it since he has to search for left over copies of it;)...quite funny story)

I like the usagi stories from the mirage era, I only know the black and white versions of them(ultimate version perhaps..)but the sea weed farming story kaiso and the daisho story lines are dear to me..actually I more than once romanced with the idea of becomming a kaiso farmer one day myself;)hahahaha...it just seems so nice...

Hello Tristan.
I know this is late (haven't been around much lately) but I wanted to say welcome back and that I am a big fan of your work. I'm glad to hear that you are sticking around the comic scene.

There is a lot of support for you to finish your TMNT story arc on the IDW message boards.
