Yea, looks like I might have been a bit forgetful of some our other characters. I was considering creating a post of favorite Usagi villains, hence the reason they were not there, but that's ok.
Thanks for adding to the list, should provide a well-rounded response.
All things appear and disappear because of the concurrence of causes and conditions. Nothing ever exists entirely alone; everything is in relation to everything else.

I think I read and Interview where Stan claimed he would like to one-day start up another title about Ishida if memory serves.
Something about having too much free time as a result of learning to create Usagi comics so efficiently over the years.
HA! I am kidding of course (or am I...) I think it would be safe to guess Todd that you read most of our minds on the good ol’ Inspector. I would love to see more of him.

I can definitely see at least a limited series based on Inspector Ishida. Perhaps an origin story that starts off with him in in younger years and gradually progresses to where he is today. He is pretty much the only character I can see in his own series. Sure, the other characters are great, but Ishida is so different from everyone else, having his own series would work really well...endless story potential!
Gen is my favorite, his friendship with Usagi (he really is Usagi's best friend, I think) is great, he is an absolute foil for Usagi, without ever really being combatative. They get along famously, and I think it is because they both see in the other things they like and respect.
Definitely a love-hate relationship. Perfect for adding the element of humor. C3PO and R2D2 is another good example.

I just imagined it as "Detective Comics" is, a new mystery each issue. Of course it would probably best start out as a 3 issue mini series...or something like that.
The real question, without the heavy interest in Usagi, is the good Inspector a strong enough character to keep his own series afloat? Are Ishida's supporting characters enough?
