Recent non-UY Stan Sakai comics?

Post by kicknz »

The section of this site that lists the non-UY comics that Stan Sakai has done only goes up to 2002. Can anyone tell me if Stan has done any non-UY stories since then? The last comics listed are 'Grendel' and 'Star Wars', if that helps.

Actually it goes up to 2003. There are probably additional pieces we need to put up...I'll defer to Steve Hubbell....

As far as I know, Stan has not done any Non-Usagi stories since the Star Wars and Grendal stories. He has done an occassional pin-up since then.

Stan contributed a pin-up which will be published in this soon-to-be-released comic by Anthrocon 2004 co-guest of Honor Michel Gagné

ZED #6 - In the Shadow of Maxuss (June 2005)
After waking from a 10-year coma, ZED returns to his home world only to find a grim reality. If you though the odds were stacked against him before, just wait to see this issue! Michel Gagné's captivating sci-fi series continues with new twists and surprises. Featuring pinups by Stan Sakai, Steve Rolston and Rad Sechrist.
Softcover, 7" x 10", B&W, 24 Pages $2.95

I don't think I've done any non-Usagi projects for a while. I was concentrating on Usagi's 20 anniversary in 2004, and right now I'm trying to catch up to deadlines and have turned down a couple of small things.

There are one or two things that I did a while back that have yet to see print.

Can you give us any details so we know what to look for (and look forward to)?

Two Morrows is publishing a special Sergio Aragones tribute magazine. I did a page about an incident during our trip to Norway.

Is it Two Morrows that are releasing the Sergio special? I heard about this planned special issue through the Groop mailing list over a year ago (two years ago?) and was under the impression that the magazine was supposed to be Comic Book Artist, which used to be published by Two Morrows but is currently published by Top Shelf. I had about given up on ever seeing it published because it has been so long.

I recently got into greg Rucka's Queen & Country and was surprised when I got to the end of the first trade and saw Stan's story. Russian terrorists are definitely a change of pace from Usagi

That's right, it did change publishers. I heard from the editor a few months ago that it was still going to happen.
