A question for Stan (or anyone else who can help me)

Post by Angelcake »

I was reading through one of my old fantagraphics graphic novels (vol. 3) when I came across somehting that I previously hadn't come across before in Chap 5.

For those of you who don't know, in Vol. 3 the chapter 5 story is "The Tea Cup", in which Gen and Usagi have to safely deliver a sacred tea cup to safety.

At the very end, on the last page, there is a rather detailed shot in which the inn keeper and some cronies are about to accost Usagi and Gen for walking out without paying.

However, there are a couple of these individuals, positioned in teh upper left corner of the page that caught my eye.

OK, there are 4 of them.

The one at the very bottom is obviously Stan, in fact its so obvious I'm ashamed I didn't notice it before!

What I want to know is, who are the other three supposed to be?

They're the Groo Crew - Sergio Aragonés, Mark Evanier and Tom Luth. I've finally gotten a few Groo TPBs and they're great!

Yep, the entire story is a parody of an issue of Groo beginning with a poem with the women lounging around, "Did I err?", and about to be ambushed. There is even a hidden message somewhere in the story.

Reminds me of another story - Noodles in book 10 (The brink of life and death)

On page 74 (or 16 in the comic) in the 4th panel the yoriki arrives at his destination (wont say why for those who havent read it yet) a strange character makes a cameo.

Jei and his little companion XD
I found this amusing to see Jei in the background and in the same town as usagi because he has always detected Usagi's presence when ever he is near by. Usagi is one lucky rabbit for Jei not to detect him ;)

*Looks in her own copy*

O.O

Gee, I guess rabbit feet ARE luckier on the rabbit.

That's kinda scary.
