FF Movie

Post by Andy »

Has anyone seen it yet? I just got back. I'll hold off on posting my opinion, since I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't seen it yet. I'll just say I'm not sorry I went. Possibly in the posts below we can discuss it, if anyone's interested.

The changes to Doctor Doom that I've read about make me NOT want to see this...."Billionaire Industrialist- Who is also Sue Storm's boyfriend????"

Dr. Doom is only the BEST VILLIAN EVER....I hope they didn't mess him up....But it sounds like they did.....

Did they?

It was an OK movie. Almost like Hulk as opposed to the Spider-Man or X-Men films. The guy who played Reed Richards was perfect, but as much as I like her, Jessica Alba was miscast for Sue Storm. The guys who played Human Torch and Thing were good too. As far as Dr Von Doom goes, he was not nearly as menacing as in the comics. Yes, he was a billionaire-gone-villian, just like Ozcorp's Green Goblin CEO. And he was (sorta) Sue's interest, but you'll need to see the film to get that spoiler explained.

I'll probably watch the movie when it comes on cable, but won't pay to see it in the theater because of the changes to Dr. Doom. The dude got his powers mystic and scientific from effort and brains, not cosmic rays. Totally dorked up my favorite Marvel villain. Bah.

I liked it. There were a few changes, but nothing too drastic, in my opinion. The FF has always been my favorite superhero title. They were faithful to a lot of the history.

Some of the critics bashed it. It wasnt' as "deep" as the Hulk movie or the latest Batman (both of which I enjoyed). But it was a great movie to turn off your brain and enjoy seeing a comic book come to life. Seeing Johnny "flame on" was worth the price of admission!

I've seen it twice! I enjoyed it even more the second time and may go see it again!
