Stan Sakai watercolor Catbus and Usagi

Post by bookdriver »

I'm a fan of Stan's work who owns the RPG cover original art and several convention sketches. When Stan recently mentioned My Neighbor Totoro was his favorite Hayao Miyazaki movie, I asked for a commission. While setting up in San Diego, Stan told me he finished it. When I saw what he had done, I was really overwhelmed. The highlight of the con for me.

I have a few Studio Ghibli cels and drawings, and more tribute commissions:

WOW! That is so great! The style matches the watercolor work of the creators in Japan.

On my last trip I bought a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle of the main characters (no catbus though) of Totoro fishing on a branch over a river stream. My partner and I put it together in one night. I love totoro art.

What a wonderful idea for a commission. Good thinking! Thanks for sharing!

Peace,
