Hello Usagi Yojimbo Dojoers,
After dinner (in-n-out burgers), I read Yokai to the whole family. It's the first time everyone, including Cheryl, read an brand new Usagi book for the first time together. What a treat.

Cami, the 7 year old, laughed and repeated, "YUCK! Tentacles! I HATE Tentacles!" Angela immediately re-read it after I finished the last sentence.
I really loved the watercolors and the sansho. It's so funny on page 13 where Usagi is whacking the bush. And I like zombie/dead Usagi watermark sketch on the title page.
One of my favorite parts was reading the Brandan Wright's interview with Stan at the end of the book. It's feel great that we, in a small way, helped Stan find out more about sansho and connecting him to Matt Alt.
The graphic novel is great. I've already read it twice and will pour over the color and artwork more slowly every time I read it. It really is a great 25th anniversary special project that succeeds on so many levels. Thanks Stan!
Peace, maka

I received my copy today !
Absolutely brilliant , the story the art work everything was amazing.
I have always enjoyed the color specials and Stan's original colored covers but when Mirage started publishing Usagi in color I was upset feeling that Usagi is at its best in black and white, but this book has changed my opinion.
Each panel is a treat for the eye, you could put a frame around any page and it would be right at home in any art museum.
I already felt lucky to own the original cover for DH # 3 but I feel even more privileged now owning and original Stan Sakai water color !!

Amazon beat TFAW and even my local comic book shop. I forgot to mention the production value of the book was an A+ . All the little extras were really nice from the skeletal Usagi water mark to the little pencil sketch flounder eyed Usagi in the back. Estee, I will give it an extra good look for you tonight.

WOW! It was gorgeous, incredibly fun, and also quite exciting in so many respects. It was nice seeing Sasuke look like he was enjoying himself for once, and then it was counterbalanced so well by the tragic revelation at the end. Powerful, powerful stuff. If Sasuke hadn't already been my favorite supporting character in Usagi's world, this story would have sealed it.
Also found it fascinating that Usagi is still thinking of Mariko in that way. I'd assumed he'd moved on a long time ago. Does it mean something that the Yokai picked Mariko out of Usagi's head over Tomoe?
Anyway, fantastic, fantastic job, Stan! I sincerely hope there will be more of these in the future!!
