Got a copy and love the book. Couple of questions though.

I purchased three pieces from the auctions and they appear in the book although two of them appear in color.

I assume that unless otherwise noted the colors were done by the artists themselves.?

One of them, the one done by GOM on page 112, is particularly beautiful in color. The original is black and white (graphite, I believe). As a layman in art I was wondering if getting the original done in color (by the original artist) would destroy the integrity of the original. Are most colors done with computers these days? Is the rendition done in the book done via computer coloring? -- I just love the color rendition ( not that I don't love the original) and was wondering if it would be an option to get it colored like it is portrayed int he book. If not, BELIEVE me I am happy with what I have.

Just inquisitive.

Correct. I bought Tim Shinn's excellent b/w piece and it appears in colour instead in the book, and I know for a fact Tim did the digital colouring himself. Someone came up to me at SDCC when I was helping on Stan's booth, and asked about a piece that was done by a friend of his in b/w but it was published in colour in the book, and wondered who had done the colouring. By finding the piece, I was able to give him the colourist credit so his friend could send a message to that person.

Did Howard Chaykin and/or Michael Allred submit pieces for the book and they just weren't included? I know that happened with Chris Schweizer.

There were many art donations other than Usagi drawings. Many were published elsewhere. Michael Allred generously gave 9 pages of published art (I think from a Marvel comic).

CAPS received about 420 pieces of art and the book only had 160 pages. Unfortunately many pieces were left out. I'm just glad I did not have to make the choice of which of those wonderful drawings to include.
