The closest shop to me only offers a pull list. I prefer to walk in and pick it up off the shelf. I'm guessing they didn't have as many as usual because it's been on hiatus for so long they didn't know how well it would sell. Or they had more people add it to their pull list and that's where the extras went.

Said in my best Napolean Dynamite voice, "Luuuuhhcky."Gaffey wrote:I've never considered getting a subscription because Usagi is the only comic I read and it's usually on the shelf. Everything else I purchase in trade or hardcover format. The good thing is that there's probably 6 or 7 stores within 25 miles.
I am like Usagi-chan and only have two and one is a seedy place 25 minutes away and the other is a GREAT place but a horrible 45 minute drive through stop light hell!

I think I would prefer stop light hell to road construction purgatory like we currently have around here....BuckRogers wrote:Said in my best Napolean Dynamite voice, "Luuuuhhcky."Gaffey wrote:I've never considered getting a subscription because Usagi is the only comic I read and it's usually on the shelf. Well...after 6 stores I had to resort to eBay. Five of them sold out and one of them only orders enough for subscribers.BuckRogers wrote:Said in my best Napolean Dynamite voice, "Luuuuhhcky."

I'll take your traffic/construction if you take our humidity and 90 degree weather.

And I'll take having all my comics shipped to me to save having to drive to collect any of them!

Speaking of having comics shipped. These were on my doorstep when I got home today. I decided to get a UY Saga trade so I could keep my hardcover in good shape.Mayhem wrote:And I'll take having all my comics shipped to me to save having to drive to collect any of them!

Hooray! I just read the new issue of Usagi, and it's fantastic! The back cover is awesome too. I really like the paper Usagi Yojimbo is printed on.

I really enjoyed the return to regular Usagi series. This was an excellent issue with lots of cool art (playing with lights and shadows throughout this issue) and humor. Can't wait for the next issue. Peace, maka

Agreed! Picked it up at the LCS over the weekend and just loved it. Soooo great to be reading a new Usagi right off the racks and then passing it down the line of my kiddos who were all eagerly awaiting their turn.
Cannot wait for the next issue as well!

What did everyone think of the new issue? I thought it was great, with maybe the best art I've ever seen in a Usagi Yojimbo comic.

Re: The Thief and the Kunoichi (preview)
Just read it last night while taking the bus back home after attending a local toy convention, and it's another fantastic episode...now the story's getting much deeper... can't wait for part 3!
On a sidenote: during the toy convention I snagged a copy of DH Maverick 2001 (at less than $1 in local money), felt very happy to have another Usagi in just one day.
