Hopefully the Petersen variant won't be too hard to get... but definitely psyched for this! :)

Did you already ask to buy the original from David?

I hope he makes a 5" x 7" print of it. He mentions in his blog that he'll be selling new prints during the 2017 convention season.

It's unlikely, unfortunately. David never makes prints of characters he doesn't own, because of copyright concerns.

Maybe David Peterson and Sensei can work something out. Hopefully Sensei will be selling prints of his own TMNT/ Usagi cover and maybe "Senso" prints at Comic Con.

Well, there's still one little tidbit that hasn't been shared yet that Grusagi discovered, but I won't spoil everything and will let him share with you guys when he gets a chance. 8)

Such great news, and on such a perfect day for releasing it. I was half expecting it to be a sneaky April's fool's Day prank on Stan's part.

Now for the big question for Jabba359....

This is coming out this July from IDW instead of Dark Horse?

Didn't Stan create a print with Usagi and the Mouse Guard mice?

EDIT: Nevermind, I think that was a Baltimore Comic Con limited print that people got "for free". No profits to be had/split.

Your answer makes sense. I'll just hunt down the comic.

I was told by either Tom Waltz or Bobby Curnow (I was talking to both at the same time, so I forget who told me) that the hardcover would have a different cover than the regular edition. So that should make a regular cover, hardcover variant, David Petersen variant, and *cough, cough*...where's Grusagi?

Groo & Hat Twins - Kevin Eastman & Jabba
Groo & Hat Twins - Kevin Eastman & Jabba

I attended the Kevin Eastman panel with Dojo members Groosagi and Jabba this morning. It was the first time I heard Eastman speak at a convention. He was great and spoke about his career and the creation of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles:

He spoke about how the first turtle was based on the idea of "What if Bruce Lee was a turtle?" Eastman also wanted Donatello to be named Bernini but Peter convinced him Donatello was a better name.

A lot of the TMNT mythology created by him and Peter Laird was influenced by the Daredevil comics. Daredevil's sensei was named Stick - TMNTs' sensei was named Splinter. Daredevil's enemy was the Hand. TMNTs fought the Foot.

Eastman talked about meeting Jack Kirby and how his patience and kindness to his fans was a huge inspiration to him.

Eastman also spoke about his love of the first TMNT movie: The Turtles animatronics were created by Jim Henson. Elias Koteas was the best Casey Jones.

His frustration with 'The Secret of the Ooze.' The turtles weren't allowed to use their weapons, Warner Bros. wanted the Turtles to be more cartoony. Vanilla Ice. (I personally like the song but I was pretty young and didn't know any better "Go Ninja, Go Ninja, Go")

He also spoke about his relationship with Stan and how their friendship was formed after spending years together at comic conventions grouped in the funny animal books section usually next to the bathrooms. :D TMNT and Usagi are about the same age both were created in 1984

If you are lucky enough to attend a Comic convention where Eastman is speaking I highly recommend attending his panel.

Is the toy in this picture going to be available for sale or is it some sort of custom?
