Grusagui, Spam, and I carpooled to the signing event. I left SB around 12:40ish and we finally arrived around 7:40pmish. The line for the signing was just outside of one of the entrance. This is a fantastic gallery with tons of great original art. We struck up a conversation with the person behind us. He didn't know Usagi. But after talking to us, he bought Saga #1 to be signed. It wasn't a hard sell.
Here's a picture of Keven Eastman's office in the gallery. I asked Kevin if he really uses it as an office and he said yes.
Here's another photo, notice the Usagi Yojimbo original Sketch on the wall (Grusagi keen eyes pointed this out).

Here are the the Usagi TMNT crossover covers from Kevin.

Here are some other original art that I loved at the gallery.
I hadn't seen this TMNT story Stan did the art for:

Stan (Pencils) & Julie (inks) story originals were displayed. These are my favorite

The other Stan's original:

Another original:

One of my favorite covers:

Four of the original pages from the crossover (Sorry for the quality of this one):

Another favorite cover (and maybe Grusagi's):

The print for this signing ($20):
The next day, Stan gave us a tour of his studio. He showed us the a lot of cool stuff.

Here are the pictures I took (with Stan's permission to take them and post here):
I want one of these:

You have to admit, this is cool:

One of the many new sketches (This one was done in Japan). There are a lot. They will most like be available either in Stan's portfolio that he takes to conventions or on the on-line store:

Here's the pencils of one that will be inked:

Another one:

Another one, I think this one was done in Hawaii last week:

There is a ton more but I didn't take pictures of them. But you will all love them when you see them. Look at
http://www.stansakai.com to see them when they are up for sale.
Stan's desk:
Here I am at Stan's desk, pretending to ink his page:
Of course, visiting Stan and Julie (and we even spent some time talking with Daniel) was the thrill of a lifetime for Grusagi, Spam and I. They were extremely generous with their time and Stan even cooked us breakfast. The Sakai's are full of hospitality.
Again, I will say this was a thrill of the lifetime for this fan. From the getting to know Grusagi and Spam better, visiting the gallery and meeting Kevin Eastman, to seeing Stan's studio and hanging out with the Sakai clan, it's up there as one of the best 24 hours of my life.

Thanks again Stan and Julie for giving us this gift of memories.
There's a ton of great new Usagi stories coming our way. Stan also signed a lot of UY stuff for our monthly trivia contest prizes, so look forward to that! Get ready for some more great UY adventures soon! Peace, maka
