Usagi Yojimo Series One Delayed till early January 2010

Yes, we know it's a drag and we're very, very sorry for the delay. Due to unforeseen manufacturing circumstances, the release of the "Usagi Yojimbo - Series One" collection will be delayed until January, 2010.

We were on schedule to begin shipment of the products by the end of November but the hard-working folks at our manufacturing facility encountered problems in constructing the interchangeable eyebrow and eye patch for the Katsuichi maquette. In order to avoid potential defects and the possibility of a product recall, we made a last minute decision to alter the production of the Katsuichi maquette.

As it stands, we plan to have both the "Regular" edition as well as the "Exclusive" edition of Katsuichi manufactured with a permanent eye patch. However, please note that the "Exclusive" edition will still include the custom tea jar and teacup accessories.

We agonized over the decision to miss our release-to-market deadline but, at the end of the day, we knew that we would lose much sleep in releasing a product that did not meet with our standards of quality.

For what it's worth, we'd like for you to know that we are working extremely hard behind the scenes to provide you with the best product possible. We've reviewed the finalized batch of samples from the factory and, with the exception of the eye patch issue, we think they look fantastic!

We expect to receive the first of several shipments during the first week of January and we plan on shipping out orders on a flow basis. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us via e-mail at rokutoys@gmail.com. Please also check out our new website at www.rokutoys.com.

Again, we apologize for the delay.

Thanks for your patience and support.

Hello Roel/rokutoys,

I'm glad you are taking the time to get it right rather than just releasing it to meet a deadline. Quality is more important to me than the timeline.

Thanks for the update.

Peace, maka

Are we going to have to go in and actually go through the order process again if we pre-ordered? I don't remember if I had to put in credit card information or not when I did the pre-order.

I pre-ordered but I don't remember giving any credit card information.

That's cool. But keep in mind those aren't the exclusive ones. I believe the exclusive are available only on rukutoys website.

Gotcha ya, I already have an exclusive set ordered. I thought this would be good option for those who are on a budget and are only interested in 1 or 2 statues

The pre-order was to just make sure that you reserved a statue in case they sold out. We did not take any credit card information. We will be only taking PayPal at this point to make it easier for everyone so yes, you will need to put in your payment information once RokuToys receives the products.

We will send out an email to notify you when we will begin shipping out the orders. Once we notify the customers via email you will have 3 days to put in your payment information otherwise we will cancel your order and put it back in stock. The figures are looking really great and we hope that you like it.

Three days is a pretty short window for responding to an email, especially one which requires a payment of close to $400 to be initialized. Any chance of that window being extended to a week? This is January we are talking about, what with the post-holiday financial crunch and all.....

Sorry about that. I meant to put 7 days. Everything will be explained in the letter. You will actually get plenty of time to prepare. We will probably let you know 14 days ahead of time to let you know that the products will ship. all the information will be up on the rokutoys site.

Thanks for that. Just so I'm clear, if you put in a pre-order a while back, you will get a letter when the times comes, and then you go ahead to the site, put your details in and and pay with paypal, right?
