Dangit, I'm afraid I have to wait until the end of the month when Yokai ships with another book from amazon (in order for me to qualify for free shipping of course). Can't wait though!

It is up to the individual publishers to decide, in your case Egmont Polska. Yokai just came out in the US, and does not yet have any foreign editions.

I hope that I don't get identified as a "little cockroach" if I ever have a book dedicated to me.
Sam Conway is a biochemist, a published author, the volunteer emergency management coordinator for Malvern County, a bone marrow donor, an American Red Cross whistle blower, the holder of two patents, an auctioneer, an excellent storyteller, and a very dear friend.

He is also a little cockroach. For an explanation of this statement, see this page on his website:

http://www.unclekage.com/mainpage.html

Just click on "Why a cockroach?"

Unfortunately, this site has not been updated for quite awhile, but click on his stories for some fun entertainment. More weird stuff happens to him than any other person I know, including Sergio. The latest incident is that Sam finally moved back into his condo after three weeks of hotel life. His upstairs neighbor flooded her washing machine while he was in Germany, and he came home to an equally flooded apartment.

I received my copy on the 17th from Panel2Panel and could not wait to read it. Another excellent case of story and art coming together to form a superior tale -- Usagi style :D Well done Stan...

You have to give Stan credit: When he promises a Yokai extravaganza, he delivers a Yokai extravaganza. The biggest beef I have with THE GREAT YOKAI WAR is that it doesn't even feature an actual war. It's more like the Great Yokai Skirmish.

Heh, "Kagemushi Goro." Most clever.

I wonder if he's ever seen the Japanese live action/anime hybrid film Twilight of the Cockroaches:

I saw it on tv years ago, and I remember thinking that it was an interesting movie. Unfortunately, about the only way to see it now is to find an old VHS copy on Ebay.

I'm going to be reviewing this myself in a month or so but I really enjoyed the story and the paintings were awesome. One of the best Usagi Tales I've read to date.

Thanks Stan.

Finally got my copy of Yokai, oh wow I love it. I am spoiled now, I want to see more hand painted panels of Usagi! I even ordered a few more copies for the Barns and Noble store I work at to sell in the staff recommends bay for the Kids department, along with Usagi vol. 1!
