Re: New Usagi Maquette (statues)
Dear UYDers,
I was going back through this thread tonight. If you start from page one: you will see how Roel shared his development of his Usagi Yojimbo statue as a project of love. Then Roel gave a one-of-kind Usagi statue as a UY Dojo celebration of issue 100 to one lucky fan. Then Roel started creating new statues from UY universe in his spare time. Then Stan announced we would be able to buy our own statues because Roel bought a licensed from Stan. Roel then gave us UYDers first crack to order them (and lately, he gave us an exclusive preview of his stop motion Usagi movie). This is such a cool thread of interactions between fans, Stan, and the creation of something cool. Thanks to all of you who contributed to this thread. That was fun to remember it.
I donated my exclusive sets 1 & 2 to the CAPS auction. The first one, Tomoe, raise over $200. Thanks to people's generosity and wanting to help Sharon and Stan out, these statues are giving more money to the Sakais than my family could ever give directly. I'm grateful.
I think my conversations on this message board. I think about our 25th UY anniversary gift for Stan, working together to purchase The Hundreds UY T-shirts, and people here sending their personal get well gifts to Sharon. Some might say, "It's just a comic fan site." But my interactions with you and the opportunity to help coordinate some of these gifts have made my life more meaningful. I feel good about being a part of this.
It is really wonderful to be a part of this community. Thank you for our fandom, fun, and meaning you all have added to my life!
Peace, maka

Re: New Usagi Maquette (statues)
Thanks for the kind words Maka and for the generous donation to CAPS.
In keeping with the tradition of Dojo exclusives I just released a little "easter egg" in the short film thread.
