U.Y. RPG Minature Color Schemes.

Post by ookami »

Hi all! I just got the Usagi Yojimbo RPG book and I am starting to collect and paint the minatures that go with the game.
I actually found a Gen minature in one of the Madrid comic book stores, but no others anywhere else. So while I'm waiting for the rest of the minatures to arrive from the US, I've started work on Gen. But I've struck upon a problem. What is the color of his Keikogi (Kimono/jacket)??
His hakama is obviously black, but I've looked all over the materials I've got, the graphic novel covers the Art of UY and in each color image his jacket is a different color. Sometimes it's purple, sometimes it's pink, some times its an orangey red and others it's a dark reddish brown!!!
On the TMNT action figure his whole outfit is a light grey/blue, and on the RPG shop's example it's painted a dark blue/grey!! So now I'm really confused. :?
I'm really a freak for detail and I know that if I choose a color and then find out I'm wrong, I'm gonna feel really bad!
Maybe one of you experts can advise me a little? Or maybe the Sensei himself?
And while we're at it what are the color schemes for the other minatures??
Usagi is the only one I'm certain on. And might I add that I'm really looking forward to painting Usagi, the Minatures are excellent!! The attention to detail is wonderful.
The Way of the Samurai is found in death.

I can't help you with the colour, but does it really matter that much? Paint Gen the way you like, not the way someone else tells you to.

Exactly, just do what you'd like, it might be that he or even Usagi actually bothered to change their clothing for once and that is that which you have expressed on your model. Don't bind yourself too much by colour schemes, have a little fun and pain it neon green :D
