I honestly don't remember when I EVER enjoyed a tv series more-- I would guess that the short-lived "When Things Were Rotten" by Mel Brooks was probably it--

The Real World part 2 was (on a comic grading scale) fine when compared to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles without Usagi as good, and The Real World part 1 as mint.

It was more similar to The Battle Nexus than The Real World part 1, it could be concidered The Battle Nexus part 5.

I have not seen any of the other episodes leading up to the Real World story, so my opinion is somewhat biased. Like the Real World part 1, it seemed too short, with too much being wrapped up in it which made it seem rushed. Too bad they can't take out one or two of those commercial breaks and add 5 minutes more to the cartoon.

I still need to go back and check out those horses

Still-- ya gotta love Usagi suspecting that hanging around with Leo was a bad influence on him, turning him more Ninja than Samarai!

The original script had Leo and Usagi being killed. I objected because that would have kept Usagi out of the action in the final fight. They both come back, of course, as the Daimyo's son did.

No offense, but I almost would like to see that as an alternate or added scene on the DVD-- sooooo dramatic-- but I can totally understand why you objected-- I'm assuming that when Usagi went down and Leo was standing guard over him, that was when it would have happened.

wow, that would have made for a different end if Leo and Usagi had been killed.
hm...I think I like the fact they weren't slain, but were still there fighting until the end. It emphasizes their skills (and endurance) that way.
The episode with Don in the future where just about everyone else died was sad enough, Don had the worst trip out of all of the characters. So killing off Leo and Usagi at the end of RW2 could have been either "not again!" or, I suppose, yeah it could still have been tragic.
Usagi and Leo worked well as a team. I love how Usagi is not only a swift, excellent fighter when he needs to be, but he's also very intelligent and observant. He's not being treated like he's naive like in the old cartoon, he's right on par with other heroic characters in the series. Sometimes he has the solutions.

Sucks when I work on the weekends- I am waiting to get a hold of the DvD's and such...though!

It's evident that the writers pretty much are familiar with the U.Y. comics this time! Plus, I'm sure Peter Laird would make sure Usagi would stay pretty much true to his comic.

I liked the dialogue between him and Leo! I would love to see more teamups with them-- but I would want them to be good, not just done for the sake of doing them.

According to the member list, Peter Laird joined the Dojo on April 3, 2005 (unless somebody joined using his name as an alias?)
