What happened to "Ranger"?

I finally picked up a copy of Amazing Heroes #187 Jan 1991. In this interview is a previously unpublished page from a story titled "Ranger" with new characters. Did you ever go ahead with this story? Its hard to say for sure but it looks like the story was reworked into the Nilsen story, "Nilsen 2199".
