Just wanted to say I like the newest additions to your Usagi Yojimbo Fan art collection... Definitely some great pieces that contribute to a really cool collection.

If there is anybody who has not checked out your album, they really need to take the time to do so because it is well worth the visit.

Hey thanks Steve!! When I saw the title of this thread my first thought was "What?? Some other Colin stole my bit?!?!" Then I realized...

I'm hitting two comic events next week so hopefully I'll have some new ones and one of the headliners is none other than Tim Sale and something tells me he might be an Usagi fan...

Todd Demong (100 Girls) did this very nice sketch piece for me. I like the pose a lot but I kind of wish it was inked.

I've got two painted pieces by some local artists that just don't want to upload. I think I might have to scan them as a smaller size.

Yeah, so Wizard World came to Boston this weekend and I spent waaaaay too much money but my sketchbook is looking good. The one thing I really needed was some bigger names... and I got 'em. Couldn't get Josh Middleton, though he said he wanted to draw Usagi. John H. was ready to go above and beyond just to see a Middleton Usagi but I held him back, it'll keep, it'll keep.

But check out the rest. Gorgeous!! The highlights are the new Andy Lee, the Skottie Young and especially the Eric Talbot. Awwww yeah!!!

Speaking of whom I have to thank John for picking up an awesome piece of Usagi and Jotaro from Stan last week. It looks great!! You da man, J.H.!!

As always, a real pleasure to check out your sketchbook collection. Even the pictures I've seen before are always just too cool and usually offer some new bit of detail unnoticed or forgotten, which makes the pictures enjoyable each and every visit.

I really like the Scott Morse sketch (MoCCA ArtFest, New York City, June 2004) with the bird on the katana.

Probably no chance you have gotten permission from all the artists who have contributed to your Usagi Yojimbo sketchbook to publish the pieces in a traditional format? I think it would make a really cool publication, and you have almost enough sketches to make a regular sized comic type book.

Just went through the second section (N-Z) and checked out the rest of the new additions. The Gennosuke painting is outstanding! And all you could say about it was "Awwwww yeah!" ?? Let me know if you are ever interested in sellin' this one...

I haven't spoken to the artists about publishing or anything like that. Seems like a lot of legal hassles.

That Scott Morse piece was the second Usagi sketch I ever got and easily one of my favorites. My sketchbook is spiral bound so I can take out sheets and reinsert them but I always keep that one as the very first page. At least, until I get one from Stan himself in the book.

Luckily Colin had enough foresight (or luck) that his sketchbook

is wirebound and the pages can be removed from the book.

So sketches can be obtained from shows that Colin can't personally

attend. But I understand Colin wanting to have the personal connection

with the artist when he requests and receives each sketch. Although

if there are ANY artists that you'd like me to help out on, I'm there.

Anything to see MORE Usagi by different artists...

So far, out of the artists Colin has received, Peter Laird, Scott Morse,

and Jim Mahfood are friend's of Stan's. And getting their permission

wouldn't be too tough. Although it'd be cooler, if Stan included some of

these images as pin-ups in TPBs or the 2nd art book.

I'd gotten so many sketches last week that I forgot to upload all of them to the site. One of the ones that didn't get put up was the new Andy Lee. For anyone who's never met him, Andy is an amazing artist in the truest sense of the word. His Chinese brush style is fascinating, always a huge attraction at any con. Check it out here:

I've got an Andy Lee Usagi piece as well. I got it about 7 years ago at one of the Motor City Cons. I love his brush work.

These are AMAZING. It's fun seeing fan arts for everybody's favourite rabbit ronin and his friends

Rob Larsen...where have I heard that name before? Is he a comic book artist?

oh yea! I remember checking out his fan art page! Thats really creative!
