For those that have them, don't forget to put up your Usagi Yojimbo 2006 calendar. I saved mine for now and I just opened it today.
Its great to see Stan's amazing work in color and in a larger format!
Cheers!
Happy New Year!

I have to wait two more days to post my calendar.
For the past several years, I always take my Usagi calendar to work.
It has earned a number of amusing comments, but often complements of "what is that?! That is so cool looking!" to which I happily tell them.
And occasionaly, it brings out someone who does know something about Usagi. And that always leads to a fun conversation.
My supervisor loves rabbits, so she always checks out the picture every month. Even if this a "rather fierce bunny with sharp swords".

Hey Leonardo San,
Theres nothing better than spreading the word about Usagi in what ever way you can...well actually there is: READING USAGI!
I got my girlfriend hooked this year and shes almost half way thru all the trades. She likes reading the TPB's in one sitting as most of the story arc's are contained within that particular book.
As for my coworkers they are a harder bunch to hook, but I'll try! Thanks for the idea of posting the calndar at work!
Cheers

I agree; I got one of my friends hooked on the ronin bunny by lending him UY #10 of the graphic novels (Brink of Life and Death), then the first volume. Now he's annoyed with me for not having the second graphic novel in my collection >w< I really need to get more books!

How's this for turnabout...one of my co-workers bought me my Usagi Yojimbo 2006 calendar! He's a fanime and I've been trying to get him into UY since he loves Japanese culture so much, so he knew how crazy I am over Usagi. Now I'll have my favorite ronin rabbit hanging around my cubicle for the next 12 months. Looks like 2006 will be a good year...

I have mine hanging in my home office.
I haven't even looked at any of the pics for the other months because I want to be surprised.
I am very happy with January's pic of Usagi and Gen.
I want to find the other calendars. How far back did they start?
I know there was one for 2005 and 2004. Were there others?
Thanks,
MikeM

That's impressive!!
Yes, it's always fun to have 12 months of Usagi hanging up on the wall, at home or at work.
I must say I agree with the comments about this month's image of Gen with Usagi, it does look very nice at work on a puke-gray cubicle wall. Or should I say, it does a perfect job of hiding that gross-colored excuse for a cubicle wall!! Very nice on the eyes.

Wow, Madrid's expocomic poster is there
I definettly have to get one of those -_-
Damn shipping fees, they are nearly higger than the poster's prize.
P.D: I got many of my friends hanged to the comic by letting them read from my own books, then when I play the role of Master when we play UY rpg I can play tricks on them making them recognice certain things, (and the ones who have not readed them get sooooo lost, I enjoy that

)

Try ordering through Amazon.france, it might be cheaper shipping to Spain from there than ordering from the USA.

Thanks Steve, for the look back at the previous calendars. As a relatively new Usagi reader (as of Summer 2004) I have not seen some of those images in that format.
I think after 2006 is up I may detach the art from the calendar portion and frame some of my favourite images. Almost like a print.
They are all so colorful & vibrant its hard to choose amongst them. I'd say the cover of the calendar would rate high on my list, how about you guys, any favourite images from this years calendar or years gone by?

*dances* Got my calendar yesterday from Amazon.com. It will hang in my classroom (as did the previous one) once I go back to school in Feb.
The old one, it will shock some people to hear, I cut into pieces and raffled off each of the pictures. There was quite a lot of "NO!!! DON'T TAKE THAT ONE!" when someone's name was called and someone else had their eye on that particular piece.
