did i err?

Post by Tim »

does anybody out there know anything about usagi's penchant for using the phrase, "did i err?" i've come across it twice in the past couple days...one in DH #12 when he uses it as the password at the gate entering geishu territory and once in F# 11 when he drops the teacup.

i know that stan likes to use patterns sometimes, (the spider yelling "yow!", the woodcutters, the one-eyed birds) and i figure that "did i err" probably pops up another couple of times...

My guess is that it is probably influenced by and tributed to all the times he (Stan) had to letter the phrase through-out approximately 150 issues of Groo the Wanderer.

I've never read any Groo...always one of those things I'm meaning to do, but never get around to actually doing. Thanks for the tip!

The "Did I err?" phrase I referred to is actually referenced on Groo's Wikipedia entry:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Groo_the_Wanderer

I checked out Usagi's link and found an error! It said that Grasscutter was issues #17-25 of the series, which I promptly edited to read #13-22 of the Dark Horse series. I'd never edited a Wikipedia entry before. Great stuff!

Hey Tim, if you wanna read some Groo you can usually find some banged up copies in dollar and quarter boxes in comic shops...or at least I'm usually able to. I recently got six issues of Groo for only a few bucks! Like I said though, don't expect them to be in pristine condition :(
