Sergio Aragones website

I know this isn't Usagi related, but in a round about way it's at least Stan related. After 20 years, Sergio is finally putting up a Groo site. Groo was one of the first 'humor' comics I ever read monthly. :)

It's not active yet but will be in a week or so.

It's moderated by Mark Evanier who also has a wonderful site at

www.POVonline.com

But don't expect Sergio to log in too often. Last I heard, he's not hooked up to the internet.

Non-UY Related Links Site?

Your posts make me wonder if we should start a "less related" page with links with people and things which someone will hear more or less often when it comes to UY but which are not really UY (Sergio comes to mind or Mr. Evanier).

Comments?

A nice idea, although the words "Six degrees of separation" comes to mind, which means that anything can be connected to anything else by six points.

(If that's true, I wonder how we can start with Stan and within 6 DoS end up with Charles Manson?)

One of my favorite experiences with Sergio was in Norway. We were in Oslo, walking through a park with beautiful statues when we came to a tree with what appeared to be some sort of fruit. I wondered aloud if those fruit were edible. Without hesitation he said, "Let's see." and picked and bit into one. He made the most disgusted face you can imagine and spit it out. He kept spitting for about a minute to clear his mouth then we continued walking.

About five minutes later he turned to me and said, "You know, it has a nice after-taste."

That does sound like a great experience. It certainly captures my brief moment with Mr. Aragones - a very fun and clever man, full of life.
