The "Coming Up in Usagi Yojimbo" page says that there are tentative plans for an UY story featuring a character loosely based on Chinese folk hero Wong Fei-Hung (which will require taking a few historical liberties since Wong Fei-Hung lived 1847-1924, a few hundred years after the period in which UY is set.) Being a fan of Hong Kong movies featuring Wong Fei-Hung such as Jackie Chan's Drunken Master II (aka Legend of Drunken Master) and Tsui Hark's Once Upon a Time in China series, I'm intrigued by this idea. I think a story with Usagi meeting a character based on Jimmy Wang Yu's One-Armed Swordsman would be fun too. There's a Zatoichi movie where he meets the One-Armed Swordsman; I would enjoy seeing something like that in the pages of UY.

The "War of the Worlds" storyline also sounds like a pretty cool idea. I enjoyed Space Usagi a lot, so I like the idea of Stan bringing some sci-fi elements into UY.

Zatoichi meets the One Armed Swordsman was filmed with two endings--one in which Zatoichi wins and one with the Swordsman the victor.

Wong Fei-Hung is still on the back burner. Of course, it is just a character based upon Fei-Hung.

And don't forget Iron Monkey 1, in which he plays a pivitol supporting character.

I have "Iron Monkey 1". Both the DVD and the soundtrack. It's a really cool flick. The fight scenes are very well done. I also have "Zatoichi meets the One-armed Swordsman "as well and its pretty cool too. I have the one where Zatoichi wins the final battle. I agree that some artistic license would have to be taken to include Wong-fei Hong in a Usagi story given the time discrepincy. I am also looking forwards to a new "puter animated film coming in June. It's called "Kung Fu Panda" and from the clips and photos I've seen it's going to be pretty cool! Abayo!! :D
