A thought just crossed our minds when my friend and I recently picked up the Ultimate Editions of Battle Royale (which collect three volumes of the manga into one bigger hardcover, with some extra goodies thrown in). Wouldn't it be great if Usagi would eventually be released in this format? It wouldn't matter much to me, since I already have about 2/3rds of the TPBs and am too much of a format junkie to break up the pattern, but my friend doesn't have any of the trades (he just reads mine) and would love to start picking them up in a format like the Ultimate Editions.
If ever this happened...hopefully they would also be like the Battle Royale ones, wherein buying an Ultimate Edition is cheaper than buying the three volumes they collect
And, of course, maybe Stan could come up with some of his awesome original painted covers for each volume, too!
Yes! Jeff Smith did a great job with Bone's one volume edition. Although Usagi might need some more like Calvin and Hobbes with two pages printed on each large page. It would be even cooler if it was annotated with notes about characters/influence down the side.
