San Diego - what to bring back for Europeans

Post by Mayhem »

As I'm heading out to SDCC once again this year, it falls on my shoulders (and large suitcase!) to offer to bring back items for those in Europe not able to attend. Only a couple of caveats as usual...

1) I can afford to spare some money towards buying various items but as others will be asking, try not to ask for too much. I won't ask for any payment in advance; all bills, including shipping costs, will be settled when I return back to England.

2) If any item you want is something specific like a certain comic issue or a hardcover that Stan may not have in plentiful supply (ie. not a sketchbook or trading card) ,please PM/email him with what you'd like and hopefully he will put aside for me to collect.

If you are interested, please post in this thread. That way you can also edit your post should you change your mind or have other things to add. I will take the list as "closed" once I head out to the US (as my net time will be limited), although last minute alterations may be feasible.

Thank you many times in advance for your concern, Mayhem; it's appreciated.

I've PMed Sensei with my wish list; let's see what's there for me:

-two of those Comic Book Legal Defense Fund trading cards,
-two sketch books #6, if available
-a copy of UY #71 (which for some reason eluded me until now)
-Book 23 HC, if available, with the watercolor plate.

Edit: One of those new Sashimono battle prints Fanfan pointed out.../edit

Edit II: a 2009 Mouse Guard Sketch Book, if available. /edit

Can't wait for July... :P

Which poster is that Fanfan? Not one I recognise immediately... not one I've asked Stan about either to bring. If you know the name, please ask him to bring two copies, so I can grab one as well ;)

Oh and yeah, not without dreaming on things too I guess... I'm sure Kris and I will probably be trying to get into the Miyazaki presentation, hopefully they'll put it in a big enough room. If I get a good photo out of that, I'll be doing well me thinks...

That is the Sashimono Battle print which came out this spring at the Emerald City Con. $10 apiece.

I'm definitely interested in one of those posters as well. What's the size of it? And is it a giveaway, or is there a cost?

This is a print, not a poster. I guess the only differance sometimes is the thickness of the paper. Prints tend to be on both better and heaver paper stock, with better printing (?), and smaller more limited print runs.
Stan Sakai wrote: The Sashimono Battle print will be $10, and will be smaller than the last couple of prints--it will be about the size of the UY Blue portrait print (8.5x11", I think).

Post by go »

Dear Readers,
Would someone please explain what Comic Book Legal Defense Fund trading cards are and their relationship to Sensei Sakai?
Thank you very much in advance for your help.
Best wishes to all!
