Amazon has it.

Never played it, so I have no idea what the ideal number of players is, but it's a role playing game, so I'd imagine three and up.

That one was the first one to be released, correct?

Nope, the one in the list is the second rpg. The one done by Sanguine. They had three covers. The pre-release version, then the one with the orange cover, and then the one pictured. I own all three :)
The first one was done by Gold Rush Games.
I own both versions and I prefer the second. Unfortunately I don't think they have the license anymore either. Shame they only released one book. I have hopes that the company who did the Mouse Guard RPG will do a Usagi RPG. :)
As for any RPGs, the sweet spot for games is 1 Game Master and 4 to 5 players, but it can work just as well with less players. Once you hit over 6 players it can get a little unweildly.

So the two are not different printings of the same game? They're actually different games?

Yup. Mayhem, that was the first one one released by Gold Rush Games and uses a simplified Fuzion system. (That's what they just call the game system. Dungeons and Dragons 3.0 and 3.5 used a system called D20).
The first one posted was by Sanguine and is an entirely different game Shaxper. It's thicker than the first one, but is a trade paper back size. Thats where I keep them, right beside my trades.

Yes, that was the sourcebook Monsters for the Gold Rush Games version.
It has GM tips, new jobs, new species, new skills and 14 monsters and was the size of a comic book.
It was the only sourcebook released for the GRG version.
Sanguine never released any sourcebooks for their version.

I've played it at a convention, but I don't know what version it was. The guy running it didn't give many details about where he found it, but I think you might be able to find it online.
