San Diego Comic-con--what to bring

It's about 3 weeks before Comic-con. It usually takes me a full two weeks to get ready for the con--organizing books, signing them, etc.

I am still working on UY 132, which needs to be sent in before con preparations begin. I also need to do the cover for 135 (or 136).

I don't think I will have time for commissions before the con, but may have time during that week.

Is there anything you would like me to bring to the con? I will have the new plushies and the Book 24 trades. I hope to also have Sketchbook 7 by then, and will keep you posted about it. But if there is a special issue or books you have been looking for, a trading card, poster, action figure, etc, let me know either by posting it here or PM-ing me.

I'd like that new 2010 print of Usagi, if you have some available.

I just finished UY 132 (Taiko, part 1) and the cover of UY 135 (The Return of the Lord of Owls), so I have a full two weeks to prepare for Comic-con.

That sounds very interesting, and I know I will be looking forward to issue #135 being published sometime in early 2011....

Does that mean you'll have time for a couple of commissions?

Sorry, I can't accept commissions before the con. Maybe during, if I have the time.

I found two dozen copies of Sketchbook #1 mixed in with Sketchbook 2. I will have them available for the first time in about 5 years. I will charge a bit more for them, though--$15, as opposed to the usual $10. Still much cheaper than eBay.

So guys, for all those who missed out on that one: grab it now (or find someone to grab it for you)!! I doubt Sensei will have lots more stacked away anywhere, and these'll surely be gone after SDCC.

No worries. I'll look through your existing pieces at the show and see if I can find something that tickles my fancy. I might have enough squirreled away for a color piece this year. Here's hoping.

Any chance you could accidentally leave one of those Sketchbook volume 1 at home and I could order it from you when you offer sketchbooks again through the dojo?

Sure, no problem.
Sketchbook 7 is finished, but my printer is on vacation. He will be back Monday, and, hopefully, it will be printed in time for the con. I will open it up for mail order when I return from San Diego.

I will have copies of all the trades. However, some of the long out of print ones are in very short supply. For instance, I have only three copies of Book 10. This has been going for outrageous prices on the internet, but I have them for cover price. If you want one of these OP books reserve a copy. I also have most of the hardcovers, the more recent ones still at cover price.

Dark Horse will be reprinting the OP trades soon so if you don't get them through me, you can get them from your local comic book store in a couple of months.

All my books are signed, more often with a sketch, at no additional charge.

All reserved items will be held until Saturday, unless you make other arrangements with me. Ask me about your reserves, even if you see what you ordered out on the table.

I can't wait for Sketchbook 7. Hope your printer will be able to print them up before San Diego.

DH informs me that there is no UY giveaways this year, but Usagi is in their convention signing book. It is probably just reprinting the cover from one of the comics or the new trade. DH will give away 25,000 of those con books.

One of the Book 10s is already reserved.

Someone asked for a Book 4 HC (and I think Book 2 HC), but I cannot find the request. If that was you, please PM me.

thank you.
