Anyone here going to Emerald City Con

Post by Stan Sakai »

Is anyone thinking of going to the Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle at the end of February? If so, is there anything in particular you would like me to bring up with me? We will be giving away those "giant Usagi invades Seattle" posters, and, hopefully, we will have a new watercolor print for sale.

Emerald City Con

Post by Steve Hubbell »

Seattle is too far away from Michigan (but probably just as cold) for me to make it to the convention

What are the chances of getting the Emerald City Con poster and/or the water-color print you mentioned through the mail?

Are these items that Dark Horse is going to print up, and regarding the water-color print, is that going to be a limited s/n type item?

I'll get copies of the Emerald City posters. Depending on how many I get, I see if I can offer them to Dojo members.

The water color prints are being done by the same company that put out the Usagi portrait a couple of years ago. They came in both a signed and unsigned edition. I don't yet know how these new prints will be sold, or for how much. I'll let Dojo members know after the con.

It's been a while since I posted to the dojoboard, but I would love to get my hands on one of teh con posters, and also one of each of the watercolor prints.

I'll keep checking the board to see whether this is possible.

Convention

Post by Jeisan »

I have family in Oregon. I'm going to try to make it. At the convention could you bring up your favorite villain ie. Jei, Neko Ninja, other villians? Could you post a newspaper clipping of the convention for all of us who miss it?
Usagi Yojimbo issues 10 and 25 from Fantagraphics Books are my favorite stories in the comic.

I was very busy. I even had to cap the line to have lunch.

Usagi was very highly profiled at the con. There were free posters, using the image from the ECCC ad on the back covers of the more recent issues of UY without all that text. I have a few extras. Once I get settled in a few days, I'll set up a posting for people who want one. Bare in mind that I have only a dozen or so extras. The same image was also on the con shirt. There was even one bottle of wine with that image etched and hand-colored that went up for auction, benefiting the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund.

Diana and I had a meeting. The Art of UY hardcover is greenlighted for an October release. I'll post more information on this on the News Forum, again in a few days.
