There will be the usual Flickr set from me of Comicon, although it will be a week or so later than usual because I'm off to Denver and then Vegas after leaving San Diego this year. Unless I somehow get time in Denver to do something, but that's pretty doubtful.

As for next year, yeah I'd heard the same too. I don't know if that's all the PN tickets, or just the ones available at the con. We'll have to see when the online tickets are put on sale. Either way, I'll be buying a four day pass as soon as they are available!

I bought 4 day pass late Sunday, 5pm ish. At that point the preview night option had sold out. I too wonder if more preview + 4 days will be available when the passes go on sale in mid Aug.

They won't be. The organisers have confirmed that all 15,000 passes with preview night sold during the show. So the only four day passes put on sale in due time will be normal ones.

Did anyone go to the Fantagraphics booth and ask when the Usagi hardcovers are coming out?

I asked and they said probably not till Oct 2010. He wasn't very sure about that date either though.

It will probably be out in November. We decided not to do a new interview. Kim felt it would seem out of place in a "retro" book.

Quick question about SDCC...if you're just there for the comics stuff and don't really care much about the movie stuff or other stuff people wait in lines for, do you have to deal with as much of the waiting in lines and craziness? (I have a feeling I may have asked this before.) I would like to attend SDCC at least once, but I don't deal well with big crowded crazy events, so I'm wondering if that's a good idea (the relatively tiny con in Austin where I got to meet Stan about a year ago is about as crowded and crazy as what I'm comfortable with).

I've only been to the last one but the comic area seemed to be less crowed then the movie area. Honestly I found the smaller panels to be relaxing and a good way to get away from the crowds of the floor.
My son (10) & I walked into 4 panels with no waiting. LegoJournal, Rick Roridan, OtherGuys/GreenHornet/Priest and JeffSmith.
Aside from standing in lines for the panels, the other lines were because of autographs.

Ok, that sounds a little more manageable for me that what I'm imagining. Glad to hear that it's not all like the videos I've seen of SDCC with people waiting outside in ridiculous lines.

Maybe I'll shoot for going to SDCC in 2012 or 2013.

Agreed. If you're not terribly concerned with the TV/Movie/crazy exclusive aspect of the con, SDCC can be pretty enjoyable. Those three things are where your longest waits (and biggest headaches) are going to be. Most of the comic creators are very accessible, and comic-related panels have short waits.

How many people here have been to WonderCon? Mark Evanier says that if you're looking for an event similar to SDCC but a little smaller and more comics-focused, it may be a better choice. I might give WonderCon a try at some point within the next few years before doing the SDCC thing.
