New guy here! Name is Blake Hudson, and I am a aspiring artist at Memphis College of art. Usagi Yojimbo has been a huge inspiration, and I felt it is appropriate to join the forums to share that appreciation. I am currently writing a fan comic for Usagi, but most of you are probably aware of that and have already seen the thread.
Sadly unlike many of you, I do not have much money to purchase and read most of the Usagi storyline, which pains me. (I DO own the first volume, though, and have read several others thanks to some friends lending me theirs a while back.) But if I ever get the funds, I will certainly purchase the remaining volumes, and hopefully get a subscription to the comic itself!
Thanks for letting me join this wonderful forum!

Thanks Steve! That is quite the offer you are giving, but really only having people read my work and enjoy it is enough payment for me. Maybe sometime I can go to next year's Comicon and share my work with Stan himself, now THAT would make the trip itself worth it.
I have read the very first volume, as well as two other volumes, both of which involved retelling Usagi's back story and the initial appearance of Jei. I cannot recall what they were numbered, sadly.

Book 2: Samurai tells the most about Usagi's past in a long story told in parts by Usagi to Gen and dscribing Usagi's meeting and eventual training by Katsuichi Sensei, his becoming a vassel of Lord Mifune, and finally the battle of Adachigahara and Usagi's resulting status as a ronin.WreckingFist wrote: I have read the very first volume, as well as two other volumes, both of which involved retelling Usagi's back story and the initial appearance of Jei. Book 3: The Wanderer's Road contains Usagi's first encounter with Jei-san, the Blade of the Gods, as Jei likes to refer to himself as.
Book 6: Circles brings Usagi back to the village where he grew up, and also provides some flashback episodes from that time. The book also brings Jei-san back into Usagi's life.
(All great stories, if you ask me)
Anyways, send me a mailing address by PM and if I run across any inexpensive books, I will forward some of them on to you.
