Harold Argleston's Book of the Month Club
This is the February 2012 installment of my Book of the Month Club. These books have been suggested by a fellow Librarian from Earth, her name is Kit Ward-Crixell and she is a librarian in New Braunfels, Texas, USA.
Our chosen book this month is Usagi Yojimbo, by Stan Sakai.
This is a classic comic book series about Miyamoto Usagi, a samurai rabbit in feudal Japan. Although all the characters are animals, the great historical details (including some violence, just like there really was back in the time of the samurai) make this series appeal to older kids on up to adults. You can find the books newly released as paperbacks, and there are over 20 volumes - Mr. Sakai has been drawing Usagi for over 20 years now!
Look for this book in your school or local library and enjoy reading, young Wizards!
