Forum Posting (time between posts)

Not sure if I just never noticed this or if it is something new. I could not post my last message for several minutes because I was notified that "
You cannot make another post so soon after your last."
So my question is, what is the time interval between posts?
I guess this helps cut down on spammer postings, and it is a bit inconvenient, but it would be less so if I knew how long to wait between posts.
I couldn't find an answer anywhere, but if the answer lies somewhere in the FAQ please point me to it & I apologize for asking.

I actually thought the setting was for NEW threads, not just posts, but perhaps I was wrong then. But yes, it's there to hold up the spammers.

I had a problem popping up when I was sending a message to someone. It seemed glitchy even after the alloted time had passed when I was given an error message saying I had to wait blah blah blah time (can't remember the exact amount) to send again.

Thank you for the answer!
I shall try to read more slowly and be more patient between posts!

We may reduce it, depending on feedback. Some spammers ARE patient and do wait the allotted time before trying again heh...

Hey Mayhem... aren't most of them bots? I've got my post time set to 90 seconds and we don't have any issues whatsoever (we use phpBB also)
