Part 2 of "Hokashi"-Excellent! Very cool fight with the "troupe". Looks like my suspicions were correct-they're members of Koroshi, the Assassins Guild! Not too bright of them to tell Usagi and company that, a fight could've been avoided. Katsuichi-sensei's skills really are impressive. Great reflexes where those blades are concerned. Good bit of physical comedy with Jotaro and Yama-Ouch! This confrontation will definitely lead to more trouble for Usagi in the future, that's three Koroshi assassins he's slain now. Good scene of Jotaro with Nakamura Koji's swords, paying respect to his spirit and asking for his guidance. Very touching scene between Usagi and Jotaro. Stan Sakai's artwork says it all! With their facial expressions, dialogue really isn't necessary. Well, I'm not spilling the beans as to how things end, but I was a bit surprised. The last page is heartfelt, kind of sad. Nicely done, all in all. It's been terrific seeing Usagi and Jotaro as travelling companions, a nice contrast between Jotaro's brash eagerness and Usagi's more calm outlook, and some wonderful humor between them. Nicely done indeed.

Like many of my longer stories, I wasn't sure how this one would end until I was actually drawing it. However, I did foreshadow that Jotaro did know that Usagi was his dad in a couple of ways--such as, a couple of times when Usagi said he needed to talk to Jotaro, Jotaro answered that he needed to talk as well. That indicated that Jotaro had something special and important to say. They were always interrupted.
Did you also notice that for the first time, I had an assistant with the art? Look at the credits on the inside front cover.

Cool!
I don't think I've consciously read the credits on Usagi Yojimbo in ages unless it was to see who was editing the issue...
Is Hannah going to have a supply of issue #75 Usagi Yojimbos to autograph for her fans at the San Diego Comic Con International?
More seriously, does she have a desire to go into comics as a career or is it more taking advantage of the opportunity to do it?
How much of the issue can she be credited with?
Again, Cool!!
Abayo...

She helped ink in the blacks. She's helped before, but never to this extent. She blacked a cover for me and received some credit for it--it was signed "Sakai-2" (Sakai squared).
She was especially helpful with this particular issue, because I was running a bit behind deadline.
She likes to draw--though her style is more anime and manga.

Superb episode!!!! I had no idea Jotaro knew Usagi was his father. Awesome twist ending. Also they both do not know the other knows...great way to keep us all hanging Stan!! Also, cool Non-logo cover...any reason?

That cover was the idea of designer Cary Gazzini. He's an excellent designer--also the brains behind the inside front cover layouts, and the Grasscutter 2 covers. He designs all the DH Usagi packaging, including statue boxes, and I'm glad to have him.

I finally got the issue! Yay!
The facial expressions on Usagi and Jotaro were fantastic, and the ending was perfect. I'd really love to see Mariko and Kenichi again, and check out if Kenichi knows that Jotaro knows that Usagi is his father. Perhaps in the future...
I hadn't noticed that the cover didn't have any logo until Todd pointed it out. Which means that the cover was so cool it didn't need a logo at all

. The inside covers are also very stylish, so Cary Gazzini must be a very good designer - the credits are a little hard to read, though

.
P.S.: Hannah Sakai already has some art posted here in the Dojo - her character
Sockman! I'm sure that a very cool and funny series could be made from it

.
Yeah, I know she's grown up since that drawing was done, but I still think there's something hilarious about a man with a sock-like head...

Me too! and I live in the U.S.
I loved Jotaro's "Well..? How do I look?" That was hilarious.
Even though I enjoy Jotaro, I’m looking forward to seeing some old school Usagi (traveling alone).

I LOVED the ending. Great twist, though a bit saddening. Wil lKotaro and Usagi ever figure out that the other knows? GAHH! I can't stand it!
btw, how old is Jotaro?

Hi, peoples. I'm new to this board, so don't smack me down too hard. I was wondering: Are we ever going to get like a quicktime video of Usagi's brief appearance on TMNT (the new one)? Just a thought.

That would be cool. Anyone who taped it out there, can you send in an MPEG or something, or at least the scenes Usagi appeared in. I have yet to see it. We can post it in the multimedia section.

If you're using eMule or any other P2P software compatible with the eDonkey2000 network, you can get the episode in this elink:
ed2k://|file|New.TMNT.(2003).-.2x23.-.Big.Brawl.(Part.1.Of.4).avi|138354688|786F5131FEE893004ED773BAD90857F2|/
Copy and paste it into the direct dowload field. The file is 132 MB big. The episode is pretty cool, although Usagi only makes a very brief appearance. He doesn't talk either.
I have never edited video before, and my inet connection is acting weird lately, so I don't think I can send a clip. However, perhaps someone else could.
